New log 5x5............

You know i always knew i would be good a lifting but i never imagined i would lift near as much as i do lol Im addicted now no going back , haha thank you !!

I love lifting, been doing it on and off since I was 14, first sport (or even form of exercise) I ever did. Spent a long time not training for strength (weights CAN make you faster as well!) really only been trying to increase lifts this year. And my progress rocketed after joining EF, thanks largely to Steve and Zed! :D

Wow 14 and your still at it that's dedication buddy! , I've been lifting bout 5 years now . Yeah I was reading up on your log and your trying to increase your speed for martial arts that's awesome , I can't believe I spent four years lifting without EF lol I had 100s of questions bout diet, AAs lifting etc and couldn't get straight answers anywhere I came here and all them and more have been answered I have learned so much I love it , and not to mention made some great friends who share the same goals and love the same things it's great.

Lol thanks! I was FAT and hella unfit when u was a boy, never played sports and would skive PE at school every week, I only attended 1 school sports day in my life! And that was because I forgot about it!
At 14 they let us use the weights room at school. My first goal was a 20 kg bench!! Seriously, I couldn't do a single press up and must've been around 40% bf.
I quit lifting at about 19-20 after a martial arts coach told me it would hamper my flexibility and stamina. This lead to me getting some pretty serious back problems which stayed with me until I started heavy squats and deads again! Now I'm never gonna stop 'em (ok I've had to for the mo' thanks to my foot arch!) besides kicking power is phenomenal with some nice heavy deads! I e been back at lifting since I was 24. So about 9 years now, really wish I'd found EF back then! I'd be a monster by now!!!
I know what you mean, there is so much info on here it's unreal! And such great peeps too! I mean, you ever meet anyone nicer than Zed anywhere?? Guy is a proper diamond geeza!!

Wow that's crazy that you stopped and it gave you back pain must of tightened your back up with not using it as much.
I used to do judo as a kid but was never very good. However I was an amazing runner I ran for my school until I was 14 I developed asthma so that put a stop to that. I guess that's why I love lifting because I can without irritating my asthma.
Zed is like my hero he's an amazing guy so kind and considerate always helping people too.

Actually it was excessive kicking that tightened and injured my back, I used to be like a donkey, always kicking, now I'm older I stick to effective techniques rather than jumping spinning Van-Damne style kicking! I've never been much of a runner, I can out run any of my friends but by army standards I was right at the bottom, scraped my way through EVERY fitness test except the strength tests!
I actually got diagnosed with exercise induced asthma after I got out the army, it's gone now but I still have some of the medicine left, it's bloody amazing at opening airways! Lol!
Totally agree with you on our mate Zed!

Lmao you made me chuckle there like a donkey haha , wow van dame kicks check you out lol ! Its amazing seeing people do marital arts.

Lol! I don't stay in the air much these days! Far too heavy at 113 kg!! That was back in the day when I was 85kg and 9.2% bf!! Took me 5 years from the start of training at 14 (100 kg @ 40% bf) to get there! I used to film all my fights, pity I never saved any after we switched to DVD I coulda put them on YouTube! Now the only stuff I have on there is kinda crappy, stuff from '09 ain't too bad though... Pity there was no YouTube back then..

You've got to be proud of that my friend that's amazing results. I think the success is addictive lol i sure am anyway lol, I will check out some your YouTube I only saw the one you linked me.

Then you'll see how fat I've let myself get, went up as high as 117 kg and 30% bf (Feb '11) from 98 kg (with abs, so I was probably 10-12%) back in April '08. my profile pic on my channel is from '08 when I was abroad.

I am proud, of a lot of things. And that shit hurts when you let go and lose your fitness and stuff. I bet you can't imagine stopping training for 2.5 years eh? Lol! I truly wish I hadn't, I kept up a bit of ab work stretching and weights, but not enough to develop or even maintain what I had and the diet went out the window too! So I got huge :( now I'm on the road back and this injury occurs! I just get all the luck lol!
