need to lose a dress size

what? who said I was fasting and doing hours of cardio? I'm confused! lol.

i've never had a problem losing while drinking. i know some people do, but I never have. not yet anyway! lol. its only one night a week, and i have many parties and showers to attend. i dont see any reason to cut it out unless i see a week with no progress, then i'll have no other option than to cut it out

Just that some of the responses I've read led me to believe that this was the case.

I am REALLY glad that you clarified. We all have to remember that WE aren't the only ones to read our posts, there are many who lurk and don't ask questions. If I had those thoughts reading some of the posts and responses you can imagine what some other women might think.

Glad to see you have it all in check. :)

Cindy, instead of getting on the scale just remember to wear clothing that hugs your waistline every couple of days, this way you won't get too comfortable with all of the very loose fitting clothing. This eliminates the need for the scale.

Trust me when I tell you, the whole scale-thing will screw you up.

I really do appreciate you taking the time to clarify and put into perspective what it is that you are doing both shor t and longterm thinking. This will help EVERYONE that reads our posts.

We all "let ourselves go" on occasion. That is only human I think. As long as we have ways of reeling ourselves in before we get into trouble it all works out in the end!

oh how i wish i had done that this summer!!!!!! Empire waist sundresses are NOT your friend!! neither are these tunic length tops that also tend to have an empire waist.

im getting rid of every single empire wasit dress in my closet. I even wore some of this stuff to work, not counting that i basically took the whole month of July off work so i was in nothing but string bikinis and flowy empire waist dresses all summer

that is the best advice ever. dont wear baggy and loose fitting clothing for more than a week, if you dont weigh yourself.

I cant believe I got so fat! ahhahahaha

I also pretty impressed with the discipline I've had so far. I can pretty much do anything if my mind is set on it. And to think, these weddings are a blessing in disguise to motivate me to get it off right away. It could have been December until I was back to normal the slow way I go about stuff. lol

thanks for your advice. all the advice on here! I tend not to communicate in these forums the way that I should. I know you are just looking out for me

I am more in the 'the poison is all in the dosage' school of thought.

European approach, wine with dinner most evenings keeps A LOT of nations quite lean with great lipid profiles, it is even referred to as the French paradox.

Red wine is best.

I am not that keen on drinking, the last alcohol I had was last Christmas, but I do think in moderation it is fine.

good advice. Ive travelled to Europe many times & the French & English are very lean compared to Americans & drink wine daily. Its moderation & a better quality grape for their wines...i NEVER had a hangover over there...

cheers!

damn, that sounds great. I always felt like I always got the worst hangovers when drinking red wine. I get the hangovers while I'm still drinking sometimes.

You have to factor in, though, that they walk/use mass transit/ride bicycles to get nearly everywhere.

But yes, MODERATION/BALANCE is the key with every aspect of life and as our bodies/lives are in a constant state of flux therein lies the struggle. Dunno bout you ladies and gents but if I can, I TRY to lace my struggles with a bit of levity and pleasure.

And you also said earlier in your posts that you thought moderation was best. I think that you think that I binge drink a little. And you are right. *eeeek*. Im working on it. the Monday morning bloat - I get that too.

Cindy, it happens to the best of us - LOL - I can't tell you how many Mondays I wanted to slap myself for turing "one night" or "one afternoon" of fun into the ENTIRE WEEKEND which began on Thursday and didn't end until Monday AM!

... is it Thursday?!?! :worried:

I was so proud of myself last night. We went out to our favorite sushi place after the gym and not only did I not eat every bit of food that was in front of me (it is soooooooo good!) but I had WATER!

1 lb this week. Damn I wanted it to be two, but I'm still averaging 2 lbs a week. 4 more to go

I'm going to try the second dress (the one that does not fit yet) on again tonight.
