Need help creating a program/diet

Self-Inflicted

New member
Just got into working out so I am fairly new to everything. I've read a bunch of threads floating around here and on other sites, but it has been pretty overwhelming trying to soak it all in and figure things out. So hopefully some of you can help me out. Here is what i got so far:

stats
age 22 (23 in a month)

height 6'0

weight 205

So far my diet has been basically:

Meal 1 6:30 am

2 eggs (60 calories)
1 slice of wheat toast (90 Calories)

Meal 2 9:00-9:30 am

Protein Shake (168 calories) (Nu-Tek Pro 5 and GL6 by Vita Sport) Not sure if these are the best products to use, but its what I have atm. Any advice on this would be awesome!

Meal 3 11am-noon

Turkey dog (110 calories)
Wheat Bun (45 calories)
Spinach (60 calories)

Meal 4 2:00 pm

Shake (168 calories)

Meal 5 7:00

Cawliflower (70 calories)
Turkey (350 calories)

Total of 1061 Calories.

Workout: 5:00-6:00

Currently I am doing 30-40 minutes of running/jogging. I purchased the Starting Strength book today and hopefully will begin that and some type of HIIT cardio as soon as I can.

Now from what I have read I am lead to believe that I am not taking in enough calories. I am not sure where to add in calories or what types of things I should add. So any advice on the diet and the supplements I am taking would be great. Also when i begin lifting weights (never done it before) how do i know what weight to start each lift with? I am hoping the book i purchased will cover this, but if not hopefully one of you can point me in the right direction. If i need to post any other information let me know.

Thanks in advance!

My goals are to basically live a healthier life style. 90% of my family is obese and a majority of them just recently got diagnosed with diabetes. Before I started this diet I treated my body like shit. I would drink 4 24oz rockstars a day, eat mostly fast food (knew dominos phone number better than my own) and would sit on my ass all day doing nothing, but play video games all day..I really want to turn my life around and start eating and feeling better. So hopefully I can get some help here and move in the right direction!

Thanks.
