training update:
I've pretty much been doing event training 6 days a week the whole summer and I'm looking forward to training events in the winter to. I'm not into regular gym workouts anymore. My weight is still around 180lbs I'm not interested in supplements and drugs and always lift raw, even in a contest no belt, no wraps.
I've met some goals that I wanted to set before october as in a farmers hold with over 300lb an arm,a yoke lift and hold with over 800lb, and a 300lb sandbag lift.
Last week I lifted 850lb with the yoke and held it for 30sec,and lifted my fat 300lb sandbag, lapped it and locked it out and held for a 5 count, last nite I did the farmers hold with 320lb an arm for 30sec. set the handles at knee level and the pull was not hard, my grip was solid,it was my mind and body that wanted to drop the weight.
I think I'm done with PR poundages before the contest and the rest of my PR's will be distance, speed, and reps. I'll work more with the 300lb bag.
I've been training yoke 3 days a week walking in uneven rough grass so the crossbar must be lowered 1 hole (just under nipple level) and this makes for a good lift off so when done on the pavement it's sooo much easier and I've been adding 5lb every session, I'm just over 500 now and walking 100-200' and back. I feel this has been the best way for me to train yoke, it's hitting my core great and is keeping me in excellant condition and injury free.
I've been doing tire and axle several days a week for reps and singles I got me an identical tire thats over 700lb and I'm working with 170-180lb on the axle something I need much improvement on but it's coming along. 230-240lb farmers and 600lb conans wheel has never felt so easier.
I haven't been training stones, I'm supposed to be going down the promoter's house in a week or so I'll hit some stones then, thats why I wanted that sandbag lift. All in all I'm happy and excited about the training and contest.
I'm still doing odd lifting like balencing, one handed lifts and presses and teeth and neck supporting.
