deadlifts suck.........pulling all that weight in a slow motion doesnt appeal to my back with buldging disc.........my favs are olympic lifts and squats

I think Deads hit it harder then squats. They are not very popular though, everyone is afraid of screwing their back. The mere placement of the weight vs the placement of the weight on squats tells the whole story of which is more anabolic.

I'm going to be a dork (as I have been known to do) and split a hair (as I have also been known to do).

By definition, there is no "anabolic exercise." It would be more correct to label exercise as "catabolic." In terms of exercise then, it is the recovery which might be labeled "anabolic."

A more correct question would be "which exercise has the greatest capacity to foster physical adaptation?"

I'm not sure what it's called, but the one where you have to lean forward to get to the bag of chips or the remote on the coffee table. Man those kick my ass. Twenty or thirty handfulls of butter popcorn leaves me winded for a week!

I try to only do that one once a month as it takes me a long time to recover.:D :D
