Morons at the gym (the official thread)...

lol

Could you imagine how rediculously stupid and dangerous that would be?

lol i said that at 12.55am

i just thought about it and surely the bar would spin round and the hooks would clip on half way through lol.

that is why the only exercise i do in the smith machine is weighted crunches because the bar stays in one position and the smith means i can find the best line of pull that targets my six pact and keep it there for all sets also the bar is stabilised so i dont get blocky obliques because they dont have to support anything i also use straps so my grip doesnt restrict my abz development

today, a guy was on the pec deck and did about 20 singles for each weight set on the machine. Funniest part was when i was getting a drink of water, he told his friend that he had to get the belt because he was trying to go heavy today.

also, when i went over to do hypers, there was a PT with about 5 women and i asked if i could please work in, and they were like "sure darling".. one lady called my a cutie, so i got the fuck out of there.

in another 2 months, i think this thread will have new shit everyday because it's about that time of year where all the fat people have their new years resolution to cut weight.

Pure ego. Simple. Too afraid to be honest with who they really are.

Thank God I work out at home. Alone.

Same here. The gyms around here (Ventura County, CA) are all full of yuppies, none of whom have ever been taught how to work out. I have to laugh to myself when I see them doing incomplete movements, like benching without getting the bar lower than a foot from their chest, etc., or using their legs to jumpstart curls, and all kinds of stuff. I built a great weight room at home, and I go do my own thing and I don't have to worry about clock-watchers, or 150-lb, beer-bellied high school student know-it-alls telling me what I'm doing wrong.

I saw a twenty-something kid take an olympic bar and put weights on one end to do T-bar rows but didn't put the other end of the bar up against anything, so whenever he rowed, the bar would move all around. It was kind of painful to watch but I couldn't look away.

I can't believe I am posting in here since I feel like I am the silly one in the gym. I basically use a few machines and run for 15 minutes. Today at one of the machines while I listen somewhat loudly to my ipod this kind of fat but buff guy burps so loud next to me. Then decided to put half the weight on the machine and go super fast using half the motion and at the end just drop it. Which made this loud sound and kept bouncing back and forth. He just kept doing this at least through 5 sets. He wasn't buff, he was a fat buff guy. Why would someone want to bring attention to that?

Side note: I don't know names of machines, but now seeing what a smith machine is, I can't believe people use that thing for half of what is getting posted.
