Morons at the gym (the official thread)...

I am saying what I do at the gym. You can leave a gym and exercise too. I just like to run a lot and I can only run so many miles outside of a treadmill. The treadmill gives me a couple more extra miles to run, and you guessed it, I figure just as well use a couple machines while there. I will flex stupidly in front of the mirror tomorrow and check out my hair now.
 
there was a guy with a toothpick in his mouth while doing explosive pushups, and another guy wearing jeans, a belt, and a nice collared shirt
 
Saw a couple of kids doing deadlifts last night..... they felt compelled to slam the weights down on the floor as hard as they possibly could for each rep. I turned around to look at how much weight they were using and it was two 35's. And another day a guy was doing cable rows and felt the need to just let go from the top after he's done with every set and just let the weights slam down. Nothing pisses me off more than that.... not even squat rack curlers.
 
My pet peve is when guys come up to me trying to give me exercise or lifting form advice. I hate it when i am trying to concentrate on a heavy lift, trying to push all other thoughts to the back of my mind

and some prick walks up and says "you're doing that all wrong." And there's me trying to balance a 200kg bench with some guy jabbering into my ear.
 
I was doing shrugs with the dumbells...a kid walks next to me picks up the 50's, bumps into me knocking me off my rhythm and doesnt even apoligise...on top of that he begins to do flat bench with the 50's and barely bent his elbows then simply drops the weights
 
I saw a guy on the shoulder press machine using his legs at the same time, i mean i've heard of clean and jerk but this is ridiculous

I just remembered a fun item that happened a few weeks back....

I was doing deads and setting up for a set with my 5RM, so I was trying to get focused.

These two morons come walking by, obviously one "guru" is offering his boundless knowledge to the other one. I was trying not to pay attention to their convo and focus but....

Moron1 "Whoa, whats that guy doing? Those look like they would kill...."

Moron2 "Oh, those are deadlifts... you don't need to do those... its a good way to hurt your QUADS."

lmfao.

I had to break for a couple minutes to recompose myself lol
LMAO HAHAHA i get that shit from people all the time when I do deads. I was lifting, only doing 365, and this skinny kid was watching. After I was done he goes' your just gonna hurt your back" hahaha
 
I got a couple more stories.
1. I was in the supplement store with my buddy, hes pretty buff, 5'9" 230 lbs. 19" arms at least. skinny dude (130 lbs) puts a bottle of protein on the counter. says to my big buddy "So If I drink this for 6 months I'll be as big as you right?" I start laughing and my buddy stares at him blankly.

2. I was in the weightroom at my school doing cheat curls with 80s. Dude walks up to me and goes"You dont have strong biceps doing cheat curls. I bet you'll never be able to do 55s or 60s with good form" I say" Oh really" I pick up 60s and do 5 reps, perfect form. He just walked away.

3. This was back when I was in high school, still really small. I was in the weightroom with some dudes. One guys fails at 185 bench. I lay down and lift it. He says"You think you're all tough doing that weight. Well my friend at this other school does 495" I would never believe this, but to make it worse, there was a record board just 10 feet away that said the state high school lifting records. Top bench was 415. I pointed this out to the dude and he says"Well my friend just doesnt want to compete and break the record. He already knows hes strong"

LMAO at all of these
 
forgot to say, I saw the same guy recently at the gym. 200 lbs of fat, wearing a tight polo and jeans in the gym. lol does 105 on decline bench
