You've gotten some good advice above. Your body is what you put into it. if you don't fuel it, it will fall apart. Your body will NOT let you outsmart it - if you put too little into it (or not the right choices) it will stop burning fat to survive.

Real food is best. I agree with the idea of starting the day with real food. Get up earlier if you need to. We are all busy, we all have demands on us....you have to make sacrifices. If the only way you can get real food in is to shove down a chicken breast in the bathroom....then that is what needs to be done. Bring a cooler and a gallon of water with you everywhere. Yeah, you might look weird, but whatever. :)

I would lean towards 3 food meals and 2 shakes...with one of the shakes coming after a workout.
