After more than 7 years of weight training and running I reached a point where I cannot/dont feel like go to the gym or work out at home where I have a decent set up for weight training.

I used to run 3 miles every other day but I got tired of that too..It has been a month since I haven't touched a weight ....I tried to run a little but I felt slugish and tired ..I also gained some weight too...Doesnt bother me as I am 6'2'' and weigh 210 lb...I used to be around 195-198 lb...

Just thought , I would share with you guys..

how old are you and are there other complications (family, job, etc)?

My .02...Listen to your body, take a break. It's OK to take time off. Do something for fun, if you can. Do a 5K charity walk, or go for a relaxing hike. Do something that isn't solely for you, or the physical atributes of your body, but for your mind. Your heart and your body are trying to tell you something, and if you stop and listen, you can't go wrong. :)

I say take a break and read "MUSCLE: Confessions of an unlikely body builder" by Samuel Fussell. It always inspires me when i am feeling out of it.

it reminds me of a time when me and my girlfriend were going through a difficult time. we mutually decides that we sholud take some time off. well, guess what?

after 3 months apart we got back together and the love was stronger than ever.

the moral of the story.........if it dont feel right then its time for a break.

When I look in to my weight room there is a weird feeling as I cannot even touch any of those weights..

I like to watch people running 'cause they remind of me when I used to run too...

When you hit a wall , you really feel it...No place to go! You are stuck!

Talking about me...

At least by posting in here , I could let it out.....

Im there aswell man, started a new job,so fucking tired from it I cant work, and because its nights my social life has been thrown away,I only do small cardio on weekends by hitting my heavybag to relieve the stress from the week past

I can relate, but I remember one thing my husband told me when he was unemployed and laid off for the 4th time..he said at least I have my health. He was totally miserable and unmotivated, but he was right..his workouts were the only constant in his life and gradually got back into it.

I'm not sure why you're in a slump..is it psychological? circumstancial? Then again you might just be burnt out. I'm not sure what to tell you except if you don't use it - you'll lose it. :D

My advice...Regroup and reassess. Maybe even get a workout partner or trainer if you have to have someone kick your butt. :) j/k Good luck!
