I made some boxes today:

They're stackable

No workout today, I was Mr. Carpenter

Had some left over wood so I made a 1 a 2 board press

Thought I'd try some of that WSB stuff. These are going to be great.. I can use them as a spotter when I bench alone, for box squats, partial deadlifts... etc. I got enough wood to make 4 more (all the wood cost less than 50 bucks).

those look like mine. good idea with the anti slide block thingees. i didnt think of those. i built mine...left them at the gym (i work at) and whaddya know? they threw them away!

pussy ass corporate gym. doesnt even have a true power rack.

They're not perfect, but they function.

Well, I didn't come up with the anti-slide block thingee... I saw it in a book on Olympic lifting. They keep the weights from sliding off and it also makes them more secure when they're stacked.

I prefer working out at home. Now with these I won't have to bum a spot.

If someone has any ideas of other exercises I can do with these, please share.

ahhh...the bottoms are "open."--didn't get it at first. did you smash your fingers with the hammer like Nate did when he built his? he he he! that was pure comedy...at his expense! sorry baby.

You mean not only were his boxes tossed, but he was injured constructing them? Poor Nate, I'd be pissed. To answer your question, I used a power drill to screw them together, so no smashed fingers... just some splinters

Amen...to hell with hammer and nails. A power drill and screws is the only way to go.

I'm thinking of bringing one to my gym. I do box squats on a plastic crate they have. Looks like a milk crate. I try to sit on the edge, where there is some support. But I am so afraid I'm gonna sit too far back and fall through the damned thing.

man u spent to much on wood. i went to the spare/junk wood box at hoem depot. the wood left over from when they cut for people so it is no longer full pieces. i found big enough ones and i paid 5 dollars total to build a box and a 2 board and 3 board press. what a great deal it was.;)
