Machine Shoulder Shrugs

Well... I have my theory on machines... lol ... if I can do it on free weights, I will... or if I have a particular reason for using a machine, I will... but I digress.

Iso works out well for me... basically, all curling exercises are in some way isolating the arm/bicep...

Bottom line is... your traps are wicked. ;)

Want a trap busting tip? Don't worry, you don't have to tell everyone at the gym you got it from a fag....


Use the Hammer Strength shrug machine :

And take an EZ curl bar (empty) like you do skull crushers with, hook the bar under the Hammer Strength grips (the bar will fit exactly perfect with the HS grips on the inside of the weight collars.)

Now you can grip the EZ curl bar with a much narrower grip - like you use for skull crushers where your thumbs are about two inches from one another. To really get a killer stretch and more results, lean forward ONLY SLIGHTLY so that your traps are in a vertical line with your hands. Heave that weight up and straight your legs while maintaining the slight lean inside and shrug up and down.


Try it and then come back and tell me it didn't work.
 
The only reason I use this machine is because its good for my ego you can load so much weight on it.
 
450lb shrugs today. Damn lifting 10 plates with isolated traps is insane. ;)
