Lower Back fat

Is there any exercises that put emphasis soley on the right and left side of the lower back. Other than hyperextensions, deads, good mornings - something you won't find in a magazine or book(home remedy of sorts)? I have two very noticeable soft spots on my physique and they will not go away. My diet is clean and I do stationary bike 3 times a week for 20 minutes and the stepper 3 times a week for 30 minutes. I'm around 240, and 5'11". Any suggestions? And no yohimburn, just workout techniques.

None that I know of - I would stick with good mornings and deads, and healthy diet + cardio to burn the fat off.

YUM

Correct. There is no excercise that will help you on this, only diet. No offense, but if you're 240lbs at 5'11", how clean can your diet be?

Try doing twists with a bar. It works your entire stomache, and also the lower and middle part of your back. It should aid in losing love handles, and anything fat back there. Now it won't totally get rid of all of the fat but it will help. Do you do any cardio? Running is a major must have with this also.:)

I say again... spot reduction doesn't exist.

Diet and cardio are the only things that will assist in you losing fat. As far as cardio goes, I've found that the stair climber is superior to most other equipment because you can get an intense cardio workout with low impact on your joints. Swimming is excellent cardio for the same reason.

[sarcasm]so the abductor machine will slim hips too then.

ive been telling people the wrong things.....damn.

i thought it was all diet and training that dictated bodyfat loss, i guess i can just work the area til its slimmer. [/sarcasm]

twist as much as you feel like, unless its getting your heartrate up for a sustained period and keeping you from eating....it wont work.

twists are probably one of the most worthless exercises ever created. It's not really an exercise because you are not working against any resistance or gravity. It is also potentially dangerous because you could overextend some layer in the erector spinae. The only thing it might be semi-useful for is streching. And no, it doesn't help to loose your love handles...loose the fat!! (eat less calories, clean up your diet)
