Lifting without a partner

Training with a partner is awesome!! You have someone to push you, plus give you forced reps on your last intense set. Now I go solo due to the conflict of schedule, but I still get a great workout. I know everyone in the gym so getting a spot is not a problem.

I agree with the members. Working out with a partner gets you to places you can't possible get alone. The sky is the limit.

I haven't had a partner for a while. So I lower my cadence on reps and lower the amount of sets. I am still going to gain strength but not as rapidly.

I think that everyone can agree that working out with a partner has tremendous advantages with respect to negatives, forced reps and motivation. I also agree that the wrong type of partner can hold you back. Since I work out alone for the most part what I was origonally looking for was a routine that stressed dumbells for overhead movements (chest press / shoulder press). Does anyone have any links? I have currently been lifting one body part per week but I've been reading alot of posts on the powerlifting page and I'm thinking about switching my routine.
