Lazy Man's Cutting Diet - Is this OK?

Hey everybody. I've been looking for a diet that's really easy to prepare. This one takes absolutely zero preparation. But, it's a little weird, and probably very hard to stick to. I just wanted to hear your opinions on this. Has anyone tried a liquid only diet? Do you think this is going to kill me? Is there such a thing as too many vitamins and minerals?

Basically, it breaks down like this. At the end of the day, I will have 2520 Calories, 280 grams of protein, 126 grams of fat, and 56 grams of carbs. By Calories, this is basically 45% protein, 45% fat, and 10% carbs.

I'm 210 pounds, probably like 18% bodyfat, so I think 2500 Calories would be pretty good for me to cut on.

So now the actual diet. I will be drinking 14 Slim-Fast Low-Carb Meal Replacement Shakes each day. Full details at http://www.slim-fast.com/products/product_info.asp?product_id=589 . I've also pasted all the nutrition information if you don't want to go to the website.

So what do you think? Assuming I won't get sick of drinking the same thing all day long, every day, is there anything really wrong with this diet? Am I crazy to even try it?

Not to sound nasty but I don't think your ass is going to like you.

Have you ever done a diet this low in carbs before? It can be a bitch for some people.

Also, it would be nice to see the ingrediants that shake. Ya never know what they are throwing in there.

Personally I wouldn't touch a diet like that.....but if your curious, I don't see how it could hurt for a few days...if all goes well......

Haha. What problem is my ass going to have? :)

I've done CKD before, and I didn't mind it. I figured with this diet, I might throw a carb-up day in there too. Not sure yet. Could you tell me WHY you wouldn't touch a diet like that? Anything specific?

Here are the ingredients. Hopefully they'll mean more to you than they did to me. Thanks for the reply.

Water, calcium caseinate, milk protein concentrate, canola oil, cellulose gel, potassium phosphate, mono and diglycerides, cellulose gum, potassium citrate, maltodextrin, soybean lecithin, salt, guar gum, artificial flavor, sucralose (splenda brand) a nonnutritive sweetener, carrageenan, sodium citrate, yellow 5, citric acid, and yellow 6.

I don't blame you for not want to spend the time preparing foods. Look at it this way though: If you're content with just drinking your meals than instead just use solid food which require minimal prep time. Examples would be tuna from a can, precooked turkey/chicken breasts, etc.

Not sure, I just had a thought that switching from a solid food to an all liquid diet may shock your body and may not digest it right. I know when I switched up my diet alot I had some problems for a couple days, but it went away after I got used to it.

Nothing real specific as to why I wouldn't do it, mostly because I wouldn't be full at all. I need solid food to stay full. But if you can handle it I would be interested to see how it goes.

Carb-up day sounds like a good idea. You can monitor your energy levels in the gym to see if you are going to need one. My guess is you will.

Anyway, be sure to give us an update :)

Oh yea - nothing stands out to me in the ingrediants. I just wanted to see to make sure they weren't throwing shit like hydrogenated oils or stuff like that in there. But it looks okay to me.

Thanks to both of you guys. I'm still not sure if I'm going to try this or not. My girlfriend gets pissed at me if I won't go out to eat with her ever, so that's an issue. If I do it, I'll let you guys know how it went.

If anyone else has an opinion, please let me hear it.

Thanks!

Just wait 'til Jkurz gets in here :D

the protein content in those shakes is not the best, not to mention the fat.

I would suggest what I do, cook/prepare everything on Sunday for the entire week. On sunday I will cook chicken, rice, turkey patties, etc..... weigh everything and place everything in topperwear containers so that through out the week all I have to do is grab what I need for that days meals and there. Only a couple of hours per week, no daily preparation needed.

Lol, suprised he hasen't came in already....I figured his alarm system would have been going nutz as soon as it was posted.....:lmao:

HAHAHA....you guys rock..........Hey, Slim Fast are a fat girl's BEST friend....I don't know ANYONE who has followed this plan, consumed these shakes, etc. that hasn't totally blimped out (except for that chick on the commercial)....it's not the nutient content bro, it's the ingredients. Look at those. They are junk. Just isn't the best thing a bodybuilder could cosume..........
