Ladies Need Help For A Womans Diet...critque Please!

As of now she is taking in approx 1200 kcals per day and she now weighs 136.
When is it appropriate to lower calories/macros?

You shouldn't.

Losing BF is usually BWx10 ... you shouldn't go below that. She already is too calorically deprived to maintain a longer term fat loss. She might be losing fat now, but it will eventually slow, then stop, then maybe reverse.

Then what will you do? Drop her calories to 500 a day?

Losing fat means eating SMARTER, not necessarily LESS.

She does not seem to mind the low carbs, she had been on this diet/cardio routine for 3 weeks and tells me she has good energy levels. She is on low carbs but no where near ketosis on this diet. I let her have a cheat day once a week. I have her eating whatever she wants mainly simple carbs.

I will tell her to up her veggies. I will add either broccolli or another green veggie to 3 of her meals instead of one.

She is much more focused on fat loss than gaining muscle so I don't think she needs the extra carbs/protein. I want to keep her insulin levels low throughout the day and use her insulin pre and post workout. I also have her taking ala with the carb meals.

Well.....she should be at no LESS than 1350 cals....

never mind....

You have been given the same advice by two competing female bbers, a lady who has been featured by a National Supplement company, and a trainer who has trained over 100 people...the majoriy of which have been women

the advice is there...and it's not going to change

Just to keep the goals in perspective - w/ the goal of losing bodyfat does she also plan to lose muscle with that?

Ya gotta eat to lose!

For comparison -- I've stayed at about the same weight within +/- 2 lbs (aroudn 157 lb) since December, but I've also dropped more than 7% bf on a diet that runs around 1700 cals. I've lost fat NOT muscle.

Who said I wanted their advice to change? relax...

I am very open minded and will definitely experiment with their techniques. They all look fantastic and obviously know what they are doing.

When her fat loss comes to a halt on this diet, I will defineltey add more complex carbs and decrease her fats. This diet is meant for the long run and I would imagine it would be better with more complex carbs and veggies.

Just curious if a female was a pure endomorph weighing 140lbs would you reccommed the same diet or go low carb? -thanks

A low carb diet - but not no carb, as you have her on. I have a similar build and really need to watch the carbs I eat. I stay away from pasta, white bread, white potatos, and white rice. I eat yams, high fiber cereals, apples, strawberries, peaches, oatbran, sprouted grain bread, whole wheat english muffins, etc. Sometimes I eat brown rice. And I'm on a cutting diet. I limit my carbs to my first 2 meals, and in a protein shake after workout. (1/2 banana or fat free milk). The rest of my meals are protein/vegis/fat. A lot of spinach, brocolli, & asparagas. If I get a sweet tooth, I eat an apple or some strawberries.

I'm losing fat on this diet while retaining my muscle mass. I've actually added muscle mass and lost fat at the same time. I work out 5-6 days a week and do cardio 3 - 4 days a week.

I think the diet you have her on is a mistake, because she will rebound later. Not only will it clog up her intestines, but she will lose energy and eventually crash that diet by wolfing down bad carbs. I've tried really low carb and it never keeps the fat off for long. A moderately low carb diet is easy to maintain for life if need be, and is much healthier than what you're considering.
