Ladies - I'm lacking motivation and seeing my goals sleip away -please help!!!

Ladies,

I don't know what to do - I have totally lost motivation and falling into a depression. Is there anything you can suggest to get me motivated and back on gear. Part of it is that everytime I start working out hard and doing cardio sessions, I end up getting sick - as in cold/flu like symptoms that last for weeks on end - It' driving me nuts!!!!!!!

Also, My long term goal is to get into Playboy and I'm serious!!! So please don't laugh. I know I have a long way to go, but everyone including my family says I have the image for it but my body isn't up to par. What can i do - this is what i truly want - those women are sooo magnificant and I want to be apart of that lifestyle/culture/iconic image.

You are doing more than your immune system can recover from.... a well balanced diet, weights 4x per week and 4x cadrio sessions - it is very possible to drop 1-1.5 pounds per week.

Save the gear until you are in a groove on your own........pm me if I can help with the motivation - I have just dropped a lot of weight under extreme stress and several members of theboard really helped out with occasional pm's of encouragment......think about posting a pic EVERY week - tlak about motivation....
 
Have some short term goals as well as long term goals. Don't worry about what other people say regarding your goals and being in Playboy - they're YOUR goals and no one elses. (People who make fun probably don't have any goals of their own.) Looking at pictures of physiques I admire always motivates me, so get yourself a stash of Playboy girls to keep yourself focused.

Like Cornholio said, you're probably pushing too hard too fast. Challenge your body but don't overwhelm it. Give yourself sufficient recovery time. As I learned from this board - 'your body grows when it's resting, not when it's training.'
 
If I'm not mistaken, you just had surgery.

It is very common to get hit with depression after surgery. It happenned to me and really threw me for a loop for awhile. :bawling:


Anesthesia, stress on your body probably does a number on your seratonin levels.

Wow, you have a very good memory. I never put two and two together with that. I had surgery 2 months ago - would that bother my seritonin levels now????
You know what's weird, I don't feel depressed like life won't go on, just like sad and not motivated, sick with colds, and kinda unhappy about it :bawling:

Sufferers have to endure most of the following:
Sleep Problems - oversleeping but not refreshed, cannot out of bed, needing a nap in the afternoon
Overeating - carbohydrate craving leading to overweight
Depression - despair, misery, guilt, anxiety, normal tasks become frustratingly difficult, hopelessness
Family problems - avoiding company, irritability, loss of libido, loss of feeling
Lethargy - too tired to cope, everything an effort
Physical Symptoms - often joint pain or stomach problems, lowered resistance to infection
Behavioural problems - especially in young people '

Everything in there sounds like me now except that I am also having insane insomnia lately....i want to be ok already jeezzzzzzz. I'm a positive person, so this really bothers me ;(

I discovered a source of motivation by accident yesterday. The treadmills in my gym are situated right in front of the mirror. I started looking at myself in the mirror while jogging and comparing myself with the other folks there. I had more muscle than most of the women as they were of the long distance athletics or cardioqueen variety. Get on the treadmill and look at how nice and slim and muscular you look, and how you'll have even more muscle by continuing to lift.

Playboy do occasionally feature a well-muscled centrefold BTW.
