Ketostix problem

hi, ive been on a ckd diet within the last 4 weeks and every morning i check if I am in Ketosis but the ketostix are giving me negative readings. I am loosing weight consistently. I droped from 195 to 175 probably mostly water weight the first week or two. I am taking NYC to speed up the fatburning. What am I doing wrong? Should I just ignore the ketostix or should I restrict carbs more? THanks in advance.

My carb intake is about 15carbs a day.
Fat intake is probably 20-30grams more than my protein intake.

I've been on for 12 days. I've been under 20g carbs every day. I didn't do the carb up the first week because I have an injury and won't be in the gym until next week.

Many times, even after eating only 5-8g of carbs for a particular part of the day, i'll get a small or trace reading, when I was large in the morning. From what i've read, if you drink a lot of water during the day, it can dilute the urine and give a false negative.

It may the be the strips. I had some where, I KNEW I was in ketosis but the damn sticks were showing me BARELY being in...

I went to the store and bought a new bottle and pissed on it...BOOM, dark purple.

The sticks expire I'm pretty sure. The original sticks I used were like, over 6 months old.

I'm no expert but i think that ketostix only show the excess ketones that are being purged from the bloodstream. If you dont have much excess, there wont be much change in the ketostix. A blood ketone tester is the only way to know for sure.

During the night, you're basically in starvation mode where the body has no food to use as fuel; thus, it uses the bodyfat stores as fuel during the night. In turn, in the morning there is usually no left over ketones to show Ketonurea, but I'm sure you're in a state of Ketoanemia.

thanks everybody that was very helpful
I'm going to bump up my fat intake a little and just go with the flow.

Duchaine suggests taking Vanadyl Sulphate and Chromium to speed the body into KETOSIS.

Riptorn,

That's old news, the new way of doing it is w/ R-ala (ala). The VS and chr is gone.
