ketogenic diet question

im trying to cut through diet- im eating very high fat, like loads of full fat dairy like cream cheese, mascapone, brazil nuts etc.

i was wondering about the number of calories i should be taking in to get optimum weight loss. im doing cardio every other day, but i was wondering on a ketogenic diet whether i should be restricting calories or eating to relative abundance for the full ketogenic effect.

im 150 pounds, 5.9, relatively lean.

cheers

Depending on which camp you're from, the high fat portion of keto should only last the first week or two. After that, a more normal fat intake should be taken in. The more fat you eat, the less fat is burned from your body. The high fat portion of the diet is only meant to encourage your body to switch from burning carbs, to burning fat. Once your body does that, decrease your fat intake some.

As far as calories, you don't count calories on keto. Just don't over do it. Eat sensibly, do NOT eat low fat tho.

Hope that helps some. Good luck.
