Dwain Chambers has bigger legs/hams than Kevin Levrone and he's a bodybuilder!

Sorry i'd have to say Levrone's are bigger... not to mention the sprinter is closer to the camera too so it has a little bit to do with perspective.

hard to tell, but the fact that they're close is pretty impressive, considering the other guy's not a builder

I still can't get over the fact that fool thought that he could compete with a world class sprinter. I mean sprinters compete and practice year round to stay in competitive shape, and he thought that he could put in a little training on the side and beat this man.

I think its not only perspective, but Chambers has his lead foot higher making his hams look bigger. Pretty sure Levrone's are bigger though.

I think levrone did a damn good job... especially because he weighs so much more than the sprinter. He was right up with him for 40 meters.

He was 3 tenths of a second behind him at 40 yards. Everyone keeps saying he was close at 40 meters, even FLEX says that it was at the 40 yard mark. And in the world of sprinting 3 tenths of a second is a lifetime.

As for his weight, he weighed 240 pounds. That is the size of a small linebacker in the NFL, and they run 4.5 40 yards or better. His 4.8 time is the average of most defensive linemen, and they have 40 plus pounds on him.

I'm not saying that he's not a great athlete, just that he needs to stay in his arena. I would say the same if a track star wanted to compete as a world class body builder.

But 100m sprinters are not that fast of the line vs other athletes like olympic lifters or throwers due to the need for speed endurance

4.8 sec for a 40 yard dash is still pretty impressive for a 240 pound man who does not train for speed. I also don't think that he raced because he thought he could win, but more of to prove that he and other bodybuilders can be good athletes and not just big.

anabolics, muscle mass and strength help with accleration :)

anyway - pro bodybuilders tend to be genetic freaks, with tons of fast twitch fiber, and good receptor sites. If they weren't they wouldn't get as big as they do from steroids. They are fast gainers. Fast gainers are people with high fast twitch fiber ratio. So you expect them to be pretty good athelets if they never went into bodybuilding.
