Just how accurate are

so...for me......210 divided by 2.2 times 24

=

2290

which happens to be right at 11x bodyweight...hence the recommendation for 10-12x cals whwen dieting

Shadow,

Is that formula for how many calories one should consume daily? My question was regarding whether the amount of calories burned throught out the day are accurate on the hrm. Just want to make sure we're talking about the same thing here.

Btw, at the gym I was told to take my ideal weight and multiply that by 13 and the resulting # is the maximum calories I should consume in a day.

no.....if you wear the monitor it calculates activity based on Heart Rate....thats is how many cals you burn in a day.....you burn cals all day long....

typically on a formula, its baselined as if you were lying in bed all day....then you factor in activity etc.

but since you have your on duirng the day, the activity is already accounted for

Ideal weight??

....never ever base cals on a "weight" that you arent currently at
