So i've pretty much quit with the protein shakes for good....

I still have 2 huge tubs of it here

But if I eat 6000 calories every day.. 7 meals or so... which i've been currently doing.... and take in 250-300 grams of protein a day is there really an advantage a protein shake is gonna give me that food cannot suplly to me?

to me it just seems like mush filling up my belly

*** oh and btw i've never been on a cut before in my life its all about bulking for me*** maybe the shakes are great for cutting?

No, whole foods are definetly better... that's what are bodies were made to process.

What kinda protein powder you have sitting around?

even tho i don't post much anymore, i'm in the same boat as you man. I've got a tub of protein just sitting in my kitchen, i've been eating foods with more protein and pretty much quit protein shakes. The only sup i'm using right now is a multivitamin and flax oil. heh

quick addendum to my previous post:

whey is nice for during workouts though. To each their own, we all make gains eventually, some faster than others.

Old School BB's PL's I don't think they had powder protein and they did just fine.

no doubt eh, they used a great source called steak back in the day.... but yeah, whey (espically a nice fruit isolate) is a great during workout drink, also whey protein is still number one in my books for an immediate post workout surge of fast absorbing protein... If you're bulking mix that with dextrose and drink immediatly post lifting and help those muscles grow!

(for some who have less time and finances, it's easier to add a scoop of whey at breakfast or lunch or whenever to get those extra protein grams in, last year at school while bulking it was definatly the most cost effective gram for gram)
