Hey fellas-

I'm feelin pretty shitty over here. Seems like a head cold type deal. Not as bad as the flu, dont think I have a fever. But I feel like butt, and I wanna lift.. Some people tell me Dr.'s say to rest, others say a little is OK... ANyone know??

Don't lift.

Fully recover and then go back... you'll feel and be weak.
There is also that chance that you might blackout too.... don't want that.

I agree. If you feel sick, dont lift. Your body needs to recover, so give it some time. pushing yourself too hard could make it worse,

Fair enough

I thought maybee a little light workout would help keep me in check....But your prob right, rest is best! Thanks

I had a bad head cold three weeks ago. I decided to lift three days after I started to feel sick, because a few of the symptoms disappeared and I was feeling rested up and better. Bad, bad move. I lifted badly and the workout really messed me up. Working out while sick made me a whole lot worse. I was probably 2-3 days from being completely better, but its taken around two weeks to get back to the same stage! My asthma kicked in and the nasal/throat congestion is only just going away completely. I'm never going to lift again when even a little bit sick or not fully recovered. Maybe my cold was made a whole lot worse because I didn't get on my asthma medication early enough, or because I was overtraining prior to it, but nevertheless, you can't be too careful...

Yeah bro maybee the asthma played a part in it....

I got sick this past weekend and got real bad on Monday. Today is Friday and I decided to lift for the first time today. Feeling pretty good. Had a pretty good session, and feeling decent. My appetite is coming back more too. Hopefully I won't feel worse tomorrow, but since its 30 dregrees outside, DOESNT HELP!!

You CAN rest, and it will probably help you recover from the cold faster. BUT if you were to go to the gym, IMHO it might be a waste of your time, because you'd probably wouldnt be making an gains at all, especially while your sick.

I'd hit up the gym if I were you if your gym has a steam room, or some other luxeries like that.
:D

i dont see what could ever make you even wonder.
I`m the sickest bastard youll meet and i have definitely gained from lifting

How could it possibly be good? Your body is already trying to fight off illness. If you train your body will have to fight of sickness plus manage to recover. This is too stressful for the system.

Be smart and take extra rest. Its not like you are going to get smaller after 2 days of extra rest.
