Is fat blocking possible with spices?

There is this urban legend saying that hot food and hot pepper will burn fat in the food we eat, making it more dietetic. Do you think it is true that by adding some hot pepper to our food we will get leaner? I look at all those people who eat hot food (chinese, korean, thai), and they are all skinny - may be because they eat a lot of hot food?

It actually is true that spicy foods help increase metabolism. Spicy foods will slightly increase internal body temperature and cause a small increase in metabolic rate. That's why you get hot and start sweating when you eat something particularly spicy.

The metabolism increase will be very minimal, maybe 5%, but if you enjoy spicy foods anyways they certainly don't hurt to add into your diet. Every little bit adds up.

As an added bonus, some human studies have shown that spicy foods increase feelings of satiety in humans.

yes but that isn't the reason asian's are skinny bro. there are plenty of fat asians and indians.

a big reason Japanese and Chinese people you see are skinny is because they lead active lifestyles living in big cities. if you go to rural parts of China people are dying of hunger. just like in the US you have a lot of skinny people in LA or NYC. but go to rural america and almost everyone is fat like 90%

It can definitely help to boost metabolism but not to the point that you just add hot peppers/sauce to junk food and you are good to go. It just doesn't work that way. I love spicy foods so I guess it is just a little bonus.

Indeed, spicy foods will increase your metabolism, but I would not expect them to do the fat loss job for you. They are definitely a good added bonus to a fat loss programm, but on their own they will not make too much of a difference.

I like how one mexican guy told me - if you aint sweating, its not a meal, haha.

But to be honest, it just raises your body's temp, which leads to more internal calorie burning, thats all
