i had a pretty decent day, but before i get to my lifts some others from the gym had a great weekend

Amy W.- 505-330-465-1300, 1Ox bodyweight total
Karen s. - 625-405-500-1530
Mike R. 1015-630-810 biggest SHW squat at westside ever
Matt S. 970-650-850 biggest total and Deadlift ever at
westside
Dave T. 860-560-630 had a good day on squats then only came out with first attempts on bench and pull
Zech C.(also 19) 700-420-630 @242 teen

i had a good day too

squat i went 3/3
650, smoked
725, same(50lb pr)
775, felt good(100lb pr)
this was easy and i felt i had 800 in me.

bench i went 2/3
455 smoked
510 easy(5lb pr)
550 didnt go, i pulled my shirt down a lil too far and my left sleeve was not pulled back on my arm enough so my groove was off.

Deadlift i went 3/3
550 this was a joke
625 easy(5lb pr)
650 (30lb pr)
also easy, my deadlift suprised the hell out of me today, if you saw the way i was pulling 6 weeks ago you would think i wouldnt pull 600, Db can attest i think. but a combo of alot of speed work and dimels with bands(weird set up) that lou had me do helped alot i think, plus i have really learned to sit down far before i pull.

1935 total(135lb pr) this puts me 100lbs away from my elite. one week and its time to train for the next one. i learned today that i am fine taking big jumps from 1st to 2nd attempts and even from 2nd to 3rd on squat, but with bench i think i should take no more then 25 lb jump from 2nd to 3rd, also dont pull the shirt down too far.

Congrats!!!! Your deadlift is really coming along...all that hard work to bring it up is paying off. You're going to have to tell me more about this Dimel + band set-up.

What? No chuck? ;)

Great job bro. Thats awesome. The 100 lb. countdown begins. Tell us more about the crazt Dimel + bands setup.

to do the deadlifts take a pair of purple bands and attach them to either side of the power rack as if you were going to do seated leg curls, now get the deadlift bar and put on band on each sleeve, put some weight on, pick it up step back 5-8 feet from the rack and then do a normal dimel deadlift. the key to this is that it forces you to pull the bar into your body, this was a big problem for me and this exercise helped tremendously. a note on the grip i would take an overhand grip becuase this will hit your upper back and rear delts pretty well as a bonus.

as for whats next, nationals for sure, but i want to hit a meet in mid to late summer, maybe a full meet or push/pull

Great work man, wish I didn't have to work, don't worry I was weak at the top also and I have chiseled that away, time to get your elite next time, keep it up.

I smell that funky elite total smell coming....
