Iraqis say GTFO

actually that could be the solution. there isn't a country out there that appreciates or can embrace democracy unless they have fought for it themselves.

I dunno. The Italians took to it after WWII pretty well.

But the Middle East, sigh, they ARE a different breed. I'm all for launching a cultural war on the entire Islamic world. We'll air drop Nintendo WII's, XBoxes, mammoth plasma TV's into their cities. We'll give them 1,000's of satellite cable stations free. No news or religious programming, mind you. We'll block all of that. I'm talking The Food Network, The Golf Channel, Playboy, Spice, MTV, Cartoon Network, and all 12 versions of HBO. The US gov will subsidizes the expansion of franchise restaurants, like Panera, Applebee's, and Outback Steaks, in addition to cheap Chinese buffets and bowling alleys across Syria, Iraq, Iran, and Indochina.

We'll give out Fritos and Bubble Tape, tickets to Disney, and take em to strip bars.

They'll be fat, lazy, and unmotivated in no time. :)

The moneys not ours, so ideally we would have spent it on nothing.

People keep talking about all the money were gonna save if we pull out and people (Obama) have all these idea of what to do with it which really makes no sense.

If your income was $1,000 a month, yet you were spending $30,000 a month on your credit card, would it really make a difference if your spending decreased to $29,500?

No, it wouldnt. For some reason people don't understand that this is exactly the situation were in.

Instead of accumulating debt you would not accumulate debt...
Credit card companies call that cash advance. You can spend credit as real $$$$ and the balance comes from available credit....
I guess I don't see how it's any different

The main difference is that your spending your money instead of someone elses

You would accumulate less debt, but you would still be $29,500 in the red every month. It doesn't really improve your situation in practical terms.

The funny thing about Obama is he wants to take that $500 per month that you "save" and spend it on something else he can't afford.

Yes I absolutely positively agree
In any practical sense spending $29,500 or $30,00 a month while already in debt will make no difference. The issue for me is spending money in debt after a certain point of debt is reached. At some point you have to quit like a hard night of drinking. Macro economics people say deficit spending is a good thing. IMHO this experience should teach that this is not blanket truth

Only a pure Keynesian would say such a thing. Few people like that exist.

it'd be pretty funny if we just pulled out now and said "ok, your problem" and the militants just overran the city.

of course that'd never happen because of all that's been invested, but lets see those fucks deal with the threat on their own

So basically we want a safe stable Iraq now, where their security forces control the country.

Funny, I thought they already had that.

Oh well! Stupid voting idiots of this country fell for that wmd bullshit, and here we are in 2008 ready to give up. And now you're paying for it at the pump cuz of a weak dollar brought upon by debt caused by this failed war. ha! ha!

We leave, another Saddam is made, and we have accomplished NOTHING. We stay, still accomplish NOTHING and continue with rising oil prices and falling dollar.

Well done America. Let's go to Iran too and get our asses kicked and enjoy $9/gallon oil prices. Woo Hoo.

why should they die for a gift of democracy they don't even half ass act like they want? oh they said they did in the beginning, but what they really wanted was nothing but a power change so they could run the country themselves.

give them a year, they'll be pulling the same shit as saddam was.

They dont want democracy so I'd just get the fuck outta there and let them deal with their own problems.

Btw Saddam was doing a great job. He knew how to keep all these crazy fuckers quiet.

agreed
if he would've been a little smarter about it he'd still be in power
but he got napoleon-esque dreams of ruling the middle east and wiping out the joos

The middle east has armies. They can fight Iraq themselves. And they can pay us for it. They are free to buy our weapons too (hint hint).

The reason to go into iraq (sold to stupid fat americans) was "a threat to our safety", ie: wmds. You can't get a war approved in Congress, unless people think THEIR LIVES are in danger.

And it never was.

So 4,000 us lives, hundreds of thousands of iraqi lives, $1T, a dollar that's going into the toilet, and an INCREASE in us hatred - all a great byproduct of a fabulous vote in 2004. Now everyone's scrambling to figure out how to end this clusterfuck. Well done in front of the world.
