Is Obama Smart?

His job was to make his masters rich, which he did. So he's SMART.

c

If he was smart he'd be doing more to change his bitch status, not going along with the same old bullshit sinking this country into the shitter.

Its true when you think about it (re the pseudo-ruthlessness/Machiavelliness of our greatest leaders).

Lincoln? War powers.
Roosevelt? Internment.
Reagan? Pretty self explanatory.

actually go ahead and explain that one rob

Im sure he's intelligent, but he's a horrible leader and his downfall was:

- trying to please everybody.
- realizing that a portion of our elected representatives main priority was to score political points and ensure Obama lost in 2012 as opposed to moving the country forward.

We don't need a kumbaya type president. The greatest leaders throughout our country's history all had a healthy dose of Machiavelli-ness to them.

Of course, you know that leadership is about decisiveness....

Also, in politics, it's about creating a message so powerful your political opponents can't disagree with you.

These are time tested principles and if you choose a profession and don't understand how to be successful then you can't be considered "smart." Obama should have understood the FDR presidency, it was a perfect opportunity for New Deal 2.0, but he is so arrogant that he was going to do it the Obama way. FDR presided over the worst economic policies ever implemented but he manipulated the political system to a point where he is the closest to a dictator this country has ever had...

Obama is a second rate politician compared to Clinton let alone the Maestro that was FDR...

You finally said something that makes sense... However, you forgot to mention all socialists think alike.. It's all idealogy, I would say Wilson is closest thing to a dictator then FDR, all in the name of democracy... I hope your not insinuating we need another New Deal...Yikes!

To answer the original question, no, Obama is not smart. He is a clever politician. Reagan was a public servant, that's what made him soooo great. There is a difference.

"Since the people will know you by your appearance, appear to be what they want, because they are the key to your power."

Reagan was an extremely smart and extremely cunning person, but he created this aura around him of an "aw shucks" attitude to the point where 40% of the country thought he was a bumbling idiot. Java was half right when he said "it's about creating a message so powerful your political opponents can't disagree with you." It's also about the way in which you deliver that message.

What is even more beutiful now, and shows how smart Reagan really was. Is that the 40% of people that thought he was an idiot wish he was in the White House now.

Yeah, which is probably why Reagan closed a vast amount of tax loopholes. When you factor in the closing of the loopholes, Reagan actually "increased" taxes in 1982 and 84 higher than any other president during peacetime.

Homeboy did what needed to be done in that respect. :)

Well, he created 20 million jobs, average salary 23k, inflation was 1% in 1985-86 and never went above 4% during his tenure. Which means "real income" increased dramatically. Cut capital gains tax from 70% to 28% freeing up tons of money. Charatable donations were 80 bill a year in 1979, by 1988 they were 160 bill a year. The greenback lost half its value by 81, by 84 or 85 was the top currency in the world again. Oh, unemployment was 10% in 81, by 84 it was 4% it fluctuated from 3.5 to 4.5 during the 80's.

I can keep going. Reagan's presidency was almost flawless.
