Hi all!
With about 60lbs+ to lose, I've been looking at alternative ways to lose weight instead of the standard "calorie deficit over an extended period of time"
I've come across Intermittent Fasting.
For those who don't know, Intermittent Fasting is fasting for a certain period of time, usually between 16-24 hours, then having a main meal after your fast, the point being, your calories over the week would be significantly reduced. There are also certain benefits to fasting such as increased growth hormone levels.
I've read "Eat STOP Eat", which recommends fasting for 24 hours and I've also read "The Renegade Diet" which is a little more complex, it goes into meal timings and what you can and can't eat at certain times - 14-16 hour fast is standard.
I just wanted to know if anyone else has anything to add.
I have done a 24 hour fast and a 16 hour fast and both seem to have worked well.
I would like to find out as much about these methods as possible.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
I'm hungry for knowledge!
