So I was doing weighted dips 2 days ago. I had a belt on with 80lbs. attached to it. I was using a dip platform similar to the one shown in the following link(except the one I was on did not have the assisted dip pad):

As you can see there are two foot steps you use that allow you to stand up so that you can reach the parallel bars you use for the dipping. All of this is common knowledge.
Here is how I got injured:
At the end of my final set of weighted dips, instead of dismounting from the dip bars the correct way: getting to the top position of the exercise, and then lower myself on to the steps, and from the steps to the ground.
I dismounted straight from the bars to the ground, skipping the steps. This put my shoulder blade in an awkward position, as I was forcing my elbows up as my body went down by continuing to grip the bars as I descended to the ground with 80lbs. attached to me. Almost like I did a chicken wing type of thing.
I know this description is confusing, here are some current symptoms:
- Pain is in the right shoulder blade area.
- If I strain it I can feel an almost numbness down to my elbow and my entire arm gets weak.
- Had to cut my bench work short today because it started acting up a few sets in, it started in on my upper back (shoulderblade area) and made my entire right arm weak.
-After I had to cut the benching short I had decided to stretch it out, I think the stretching made it worse. Almost like I was stretching a muscle that was already hyperextended.
I have no background in kinesthesiology, if anyone could help me out with what is wrong it would be greatly appreciated. I feel like I either pinched a nerve of hyper extended the shoulder blade muscle. Both of these are complete guesses.
This is back injury for sure, not a rotator cuff injury.
I am taking Aleve right now, I had 3 at 930am (after my workout today) and 2 more at 3pm. I can still feel it but it is not preventing me from doing any normal actions. I know if I tried to do a row or bench type exercise I would irritate it though.
