What about leg curls/extensions. One of the hallmarks of bodybuilding is finding creative ways to work aroud injuries.
My cousin can't suqat cause of bad knees from when he was a kid jumping out of trees. So i had him do half squats with very light weights for reps of 30-50. Well his legs grew. Not as much as mine, but they grew regardless. So be creative. And analyze what the doctors tell you, be logical in asking why can't you do a particular movement.
If you can walk around normally and climb stairs, a ladder, pick stuff up off the floor than you are fine.
