The only thing that makes him "unfit" is that he is aggressive. And since that one time he has not been aggressive with the boys. Or at least the boys haven't said anything about it.

He is just a completely arrogant asshole. He's racist, lazy, arrogant and thinks he's entitled to being taken care of. He is the "cool" dad. He let's them do what they want, encourages fighting. Doesn't push education and self reaponsiblity. To me those are traits if an unfit father but I'm not sure a judge will see those as reasons.

Unfortunately that's the job of the separated dad everywhere...
There is always other ways to show that he's unfit. Maybe your in his car, drop 500.00 in blow under the seat and maybe your a pissed off drug dealer who drops an anonymous tip about a other dealer stepping on your toes. Be creative. There's nothing I won't do to protect my son. This is all hypothetically speaking of course cause no one would ever do this... : /

Really pushing to get to know the boys because he wants to move in together. Having a two income household would help a lot. But...

No woody. I have a teenage boy. It's not just as easy as moving in with him and we are having a happy Brady bunch life. I have to take it slow. My Kids have been thru a lot, I'm just being careful. My boys father manipulates them. My oldest is unsure of BlueShirt.

Look, I love BlueShirt. He is a good man, hardworking, kind, responsible and honestly he would make a great father. He's consistent and a very moral man. He would be a great example to my kids.

I think I hesitate because sometimes I wonder why a man like him would walk into all of this chaos. And what if he changes his mind?

I've got step kids. My wife's ex was a worthless piece of shit that knocked her up as a teenager, joined the navy and took her from her family in San Diego to a naval base somewhere in Jersey or Philly, where he persisted to beat her in front of her young children daily until an officer living next door had enough of it and kicked the door in one night.

It's not easy raising step kids. Especially when there's a shitty ex still in the picture and the kids don't respect you as a father, but still come to you when they need something.
