Do people always have to go to court for a divorce In the US? I never stepped one foot in a court in Canada. I had a mediation lawyer...it got all settled without having to spend lots of money on court proceedings

look i'm certainly no legal expert but do you think that was maybe a mistake given how you were rawdogged by the ex? I don't know, maybe the other way you would have spent way more initially...but maybe you wouldn't have to suffer the indignity of writing the hure that big check every month. I would think that might have been worth it no?

there wasn't, it's just election time and spy is trying to make a political statement using V's circumstances which is completely and entirely unfair. But people like to parse and pull what they want from a story so it fits their own narrative.

i actually did way better bro...if you go to court the judge decides on what you pay? would you take that risk? i have 2 kids i did not want them to get all caught up in this also...i dont pay alimony, just a net worth of my 50% assests like any mediation or court would ask for...you go to court you will have to pay more lawyer fees, court time and for sure some alimony...trust me, im an expert on this topic now lol

I'm not sure what state you live in. But each state is pretty much the same at support enforcement. It just sucks that you haven't done anything up til now to put him in arrears. If he was behind on his support payments the enforcement agency would be more hard pressed to put the shaft to him. I am speaking from personal experience with this. You seriously need to go petition for custody and support.

He owes nearly $14,000 in back child support. You're right a waited too long to do anything. But please understand, he made threats, his other family members did too. I didn't feel safe enough to do anything until I moved clear across town. The cops in the city I was in were absolutely no help.
