I'm new to the boards...

Hello everyone. Just joined the boards this week. Had been reading for awhile and have enjoyed the stories, advice and comraderie. My brother inspired me to start lifting back in 98 when I was 105 lbs and 26% BF...I ran 5 miles a day and ate soup. Started lifting and after 3 yrs entered my first show - after that i was hooked on lifting competing and the whole bodybuilding lifestyle.

My brother and i have competed together and after he heals from his injury I hope we will have a chance again. Just wanted to say hello to everyone and i look forward to talking with you. Wasn't sure how to put a pic up here - but i added some to my gallery. They were taken at 2003 Jr Natl's. Take care.

ya please find out how to post up those pics for us non - plats! lookin great from what i can see... Nice to have u here!

Sorry, but I was under the impression this was a fitness board...hence the name ELITE FITNESS. Just my two cents. Looking good.:D

Holy Sh*t! You look amazing.....totally amazing. I can only wish to have half the body you do.... :)

Please please please swing by the Women's Board sometime and share your knowledge. I would love to hear your thoughts on contest dieting and training. As well as helping the other ladies there. I think you would be a great asset to *any* board here. :)

Damn girl that's an awesome body!!..how do you get that tan??

Good God! Girl!!! I can see where it runs in the family!

welcome...you look great. Both you and Quad have natural ability, but it is obvious you both have put your heart and soul into your training. I applaud your discipline and hard work!

Wow, welcome to the boards. You look great. I just noticed from your profile that you are an NPC judge. I'm about 5 weeks out from a contest right now. I know that it's tough from just looking at pictures, but there is a link in my signature to my most recent pics. I put new ones up each week. When you have some time, I would really appreciate it if you would give me some feedback. I have a pretty good idea what I think are my weak points, but I would love some input from an expert.

Thanks for your compliments on my pics - everyone has been so nice and i appreciate everyone welcoming me to the boards. You had asked for my opinion as a judge and competitor as you are preparing for a show 5 weeks out... I would be happy to comment:

I really like your shape - a very narrow waist and hips. really nice quad & teardrop development! I know you are dieting down now & not adding much size if any, but add'tl size is needed in your arms and shoulders. Not sure of your training program but maybe working shoulders twice weekly 1 light/1 heavy-and seperate your arm workout from other body parts (triceps & biceps) so u can blast them. I added a lot of size to my arms & shoulders doing this.

I also looked at your diet - which i would change. Maybe your body is getting too little food. Your metabolism might be slowing. I thought maybe you don't eat meat? I didn't see any..maybe something like this:

6 egg whites, 1 yolk
5 oz Tuna, 99% Lean Turkey, Chicken or Fish
with 1/2 cup oatmeal or 1/2 grapefruit

4 oz salmon (or other protein source as above)
4 egg whites, 1 yolk

WORKOUT

Post workout:
2 scoops of a clean high quality protein shake powder in 14 oz. water

5 oz chicken breast
1 cup Salad with 2 Tbsp Newmans Olive Oil &
Vinegar Dressing (low sodium, no carbs, just fat)

5 oz Tuna, 99% Lean Turkey, Chicken or Fish
-or- 2 scoops of a clean high quality protein shake powder in 14 oz. water

Protein & egg white pancakes
2 scoops clean high quality protein and 4 egg whites
Mix into a batter & make like pancakes

** I like Beverly's Ultra Size Vanilla (clean competition protein)

Well... those are my thoughts. Got rid of the cottage cheese and protein bar..competition diets don't generally have either - sorry. I hope you find this information helpful and if you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you very much for your evaluation. I know that my arms and shoulders (especially shoulders need help). They will be a priority next time around. I really appreciate the diet advice as well. There are some things that I didn't think about on there. I do eat meat, but I think that fish and chicken has more protein for the amount of calories they contain. Do you think it is a bad thing to go low calorie if that means no cardio, or would you recommend upping the calories and doing cardio? Thanks again for your time and input.

I replied to you on another thread...but wanted to answer here that red meat has an amino acid profile not found in your other sources - hardens you up too. At least try adding it at the 5th meal.

If what i suggested becomes too low-cal - like...ur dropping like a stone... add an oz. or two more of protein source to each meal and maybe another oz. or two of sweet potato at lunch meal.

You really don't want to rely on cardio more than your nutrition to help you burn fat. You can always tinker with your nutrition, but once you've burnt up some muscle its hard to replace pre-contest..plus you don't want that prisoner of war, oh so stringy look either. I would definately suggest some cardio, like high-intesity, short-duration (think sprinter, rather than marathoner...) Few times a week now - 20 mins max - 3 times.

contest tan..

Thank you so much for your compliments! I had those pics taken at contest time. The tan was about 6 coats of Pro-tan from Wed to Sat (day of pics) and a new product they put out called Quick Bronze. I would recommend it to anybody competing. You can only put it on before you walk out onstage cause it stays wet - but the color onstage is excellent!

I can't get over how huge your delts are. the more I look at your pics the more I think they are out of proportion with the rest of your upper body. maybe think about backing off of deltaoid specific exercises for a while? just a thought

not a flame, just constructive criticism.

thanks...

I appreciate your comments. Its why we are all here - constructive criticism is always welcome. I lost some muscle due to surgery in Dec 03' - so not by choice - i lost muscle, so my delts have come down a bit. Competed in bodybuilding these last 5 years - doing some figure this year, just to try...then back to BB next year as they changed the weight classes - so a girl doesnt have to be so massive. Take care and thanks again.

I think you are beautiful. Really.

I appreciate that, it means a lot. Guys may not know - but some girls struggle when they get into bodybuilding and start to develop a large amount of muscle. You wonder in your head if your feminine look went out the window... so again thanks so much.

Hey, there neighbor. Glad to see you have joined the boards. Your pics look awesome, you have come a long way baby.

Tons of good info here, I need it so I can keep up with you and big bro.

Peace
