This question is for a friend I train in the evening(right after work) before I eat. Also what should he eat before training in the morning if ya'll say yes you should eat.

When dieting I always do my morning cardio on an empty stomach, the theory is that the only source of energy your body has at that point is stored bodyfat. Using that theory, and just the eca stack, I can generally lose 1/2 to 1 inch off my waist every week so I know it works well for me.

I weight train in the morning, I do not eat before, but my training only last 45 min. I would say as long as you do not run out of engery you should not eat. An eca stack should help that!

Personally I wouldn't want to weight train with the intent of gaining mass first thing without some carbs in my system, I run out of strength way too fast that way.

You are going to want to eat some light carbs in the morning before you train even if trying to lose fat. Weight lifting relies on using muscle glycogen to fuel the muscle cells and if you have been starving your cells for the whole night, then you will need some carbs. I would try a mixture of half simple carbs and half complex carbs. If he does his cardio afterwards at approximately 65% of his maximum heart rate then he can burn all the fat he wants. After the workout I would consume 50-70g of simple carbs and 30-50g of protein.

Just eat. If you are lifting in the am...you need to eat. Eat a baked potato...cereal....get some carbs anytime that you are lifting!!!
