How much protein?

Wulfgar said:
i go as high as 3.5 grams of protien per lb of BW. ESPECIALLY on T3. 50 mcg a day effectively doubles the bodies natural metabolic influce from the Thyroid(the normal endogenous output for T3 is 26 Mcg/dayy). It will quickly put the body into a catabolic state because of the massive nutriional input needed to maintain such a torrid paced metabolism. Whn this is combined with high AAS doses and other muscle building chemistry the bodies demand for nutrients is sky high.
To be honest I never grew well until I adhered to this high protien intake. Clinically I know guys who are struggling to gain weight @ 150 lbs and monsters who ar close to 300 lbs and still packing on more mass. Guess which group is adhereing to the higher protien intake?
To gain mass I recommend for an AAS user 21-25 Calories per lb of BW(actual number will vary based on protocol and the individuals genetic makeup) with 40% Carbs, 40% protien and 20% healthy fats for the mesomorph. ectomorphs can run the carbs as high as 50% and bring the protien down to 35% and the fats down to 15%. whereas endomorphs need to drop the carbs as low as 30%, bring the protien to 50% and leavethe fat where it is.

good luck bro... :coffee:

man....i just don't think i can get down 875g protein per day wulfgar....just doesn't seem possible

I agree. I shoot normally for at least 1 gram per lbs of Muscle mass. You can't go wrong with protein. IMO you can't have too much. if your body can't use it it will get rid of it. while bulking, Naturally no AAS, 1.5 works well. remember that while using your body can absorb and use higher amounts of protein. I understand that you are not bulking, but if you want to gaim strenght and mass, high protein.

thats my 2 cents

take care

Thanks for the advice. Please keep in mind I am trying to drop weight not gain. I want to drop about 10-15lbs while keeping all my muscle. Do you think upping my protein intake that much will pack pounds on? I am definitely not trying to bulk, I want to cut. I was thinking 1.5g to 2g max. I have taken 2 before and had a pretty rough tim dropping weight. I am def low carb low fat high protein diet now. Cardio 3x wk working out 5 days. What do you think?

Take it up to 1.5-2 grams and reevaluate yourself after a few weeks. If you don't think you are dropping any fat, then cut the cals back, but you may be fine.

Also, if you are in a cutting phase why would your strength increase. The key is to keep your strength at the same level, so that will ensure that your muscle mass is staying consistent. The problem will be if you are getting weaker. Try not to drop the weights to lower than 10% of what you normally lift. You should not be getting stronger typically if you are burning mre calories and looking to cut up.

I deifnaltey think 2 Grams per lb of BW is a great # to use to drop BF while retaining LBM. ( I think the PTOR ratio is perfect...1.818XLBM for protien intake)
Just remember to cycle your carb intake. I recommend utilizing only enough carbs to fuel your workouts(roughly 500 calories) as a baseline(Low day) with about 10 % of the carbs coming from fat.
lets theoretically use me @ 275 prepping for a show for an example. I start dieting @ about 275 with about 9% BF which meant my LBM was roughly 250 lbs. Protien intake was first, since i am chemically enhanced I used the PTOR ratio (250x1.818=454 grams protien a day). so I ate 9x a day with 50 grams protien as a baseline.
Fats are from healthy sources and constitute 10%
for carbs i used 112 grams per day(450 calories, basically 1 weight training workout) as my lowest caloric point. Zig Zag dieting with carbs is CRUCIAL for sucess so we use a low, med and high day. so using a 250 calorie(from carbs, or 62 carbs) as the rotation number it looks like this
Day 1 3000 Cal(the xtra 500 cal coming from carbs)
Day 2 2750 Cal(extra 250 cal from carbs)
Day3 (112x4)+(454x4)+(2500-.1%)= 2500 cal
Day 4 repeat Day 1

simple right????

now the problem i have seen is dropping to quickly to this 3 day rotation results in a decrease of LBM along with fat which is unacceptable.
Solution???? start the diet earlier (16-20 weeks out) @ 6000 total calories and zig zag your way down using the 3 day rotation 2 times before dropping again
example
Day1 6000 Calories 1816 from protien, 600 from fat, 3584 from carbs
DAy2 5750 1816 fom protien, 575 from fat, 3359 from carbs
Day 3 5500 1816 from protien, 550 fat kcal, 3134 from carbs
Day 4 repeat day 1
day 5 repeat day 2
Day 6 repeat day 3
Day 7 5750 kcal
Day 8 5500kcal
Day 9 5250kcal

and so on until the original rotation is reached which should be somewhere about 5 weeks from the end of the diet. total fat loss should be 1-2 lbs a week so it my be necessary to add or subtract carbs based on speed of fat loss
for you bro, since you are alreayd low carb and low fat..just do the math and go str8 to your low end 3 day rotation...you should do great!!

there you have it! No one ever said bodybuilding was easy!!
good luck bro...: coffee:

Shouldnt be that hard bro..just takes some extra discipline
also remember this is in conjunction with shorter type burst cycles which means you would be eating @ that amount for no longer than 6 weeks.
try getting in 5 meals with 100 grams of protien each from food, then take shakes for the additional 375 grams...a meal every 2 hours should do the trick.

Ive seen Jay cutler put away 500$ worth of sushi(probably at least 50 full sized rolls). Ive seen Ron coleman eat 4 entire rotissiere chickens and a pot of green tea and be hungary an hour later. Dont even get me started on what Greg Kovacs eats!!!
To get HUGE you have to eat HUGE!!! also 1 gram of EQ daily, clen, GH, 200-300 mg T-3, 30 iu's of slin all tend to help "perk" up the appetitie when you get to those levels

But for those not on AAS and wanting to gain size, how is the body going to possibly utilize more than 1g of protein per pound?
