In the real world, benching is about useless unless you drop transmissions without a jack. It also favors the shorter guys more than any other exercise for biomechanical reasons.

True, but there is a formula that they use at powerlifting events so you can equally compare a 5'5 150 guy's bench and a 6'2 240 guy's bench. I'll see if I can find it.
My bench on and off cycle is 265x8 and 300x1. My only lifts that go up any significant amount on/off cycle are my shoulder presses and squats.
I don't bench anymore since I kept hurting my shoulder, but 8 years ago (the last time I was able to seriously bench) I could do 300 at 5'10" 180lbs, so 1.67
BTW, like Test boy said, why would anyone give a turd?
Whoever made the comment about benching being useless in the real world sits behind a desk. When you are physical like me, I can definetely tell a "big" difference when I haven't worked out for a while. It also helped me get this big fat chick off of me the other night at the bar. Man she was persistent. Next time ill take "free night at the waffle house" coupons with me and just hand them out instead of getting slobbered all over and physically challenged.
