Hey Mr.X..WHERE ARE YOU?

Thought you were suppose to be the mod on this board, no? Haven't seen a post from you in months and there are tons of bros seeking advice on their diets (which need a TON of revamping)............I'm trying to help out as many as I can, but it's hard.........I'll gladly take your role, if I get promoted....but, until then, I like to spend my time researching.........

Off topic Kurz, not to sound gay, but I would like to see your pics bro. You said that was your brother in the avator, but I would like to see the physique of whom I take some nuritional advice from!

That's really ignorant, do you think that doctor's and scientist's need great physique's to give out advice on dieting and nutrition?

(Not saying Kurz has a bad physique, just trying to make a point)

As a person who has run a business for 3 years based entirely upon how I looked, yes, I'd say it's very key to know/see who you are working with. Those who actually put into practice what they preach, really know the techniques and subject inside/out. Many times trainers only regurgitate what they read, or what they have read that has worked for others. Having yourself as a walking billboard could not be more important in such a position.

I am sure Jkurz looks exceptional, so that is no issue here.

Sc - I agree 110%. To All - I know I would like to see whom I'm dealing with when taking adivce of ANY kind......although many of the best coaches, gurus, experts in a lot of fields are actually horrible at what they do. I mean look how many NFL, NBA, etc. coaches are out there, whose knowledge is FAR suprerior to any player, has never actually put on the pads or gear. However, in this field, that is USUALLY not the case. I swear to you, that as soon as I get a decent digital camers (camera phone I have is a joke, tried it many times) I will post it immidiately. For now, please just take my word, as that is one thing I would never bullshit about. I feel trust to be number one in anything and everything that I do. I am 6'2 and 188 at this very second (ok, 45 minutes ago in the gym)........I last had my bodyfat test via hydro. 2 weeks ago and was hoovering around 7% (5.5 with calipers)..........I get like this every summer for 2 reasons. One, it's hard for me to eat nutrient dense foods when the temperatures are 80+ degrees, and TWO, much of my free time is spent outside, doing a variety of things. So, right now, I'm in pretty rare form. My bench is around 315 for a couiple, my squat is about 405 and I can run a 5.5 minutes mile. Nothing to brag about by any means. Just want to give you an idea. I've been as high as 235, 2 winters ago and about 11-12% bf. Not sure where I;m going to take it shortly, but I do know I feel better with more mass.........

My objectives have and always will be to do as much reading and research as I can to stay on top of this game. I know what works for ME and a few others that I've assisted. One of my prouder moments occured last fall. A fellow gym rat who is 45 years old, WON the EAS transformation contest under my wing and guidance. Some may chuckle at that, but to see his transformation and see tat check for $10gs come rolling in, almost brought a tear to my eye. You can check him out at www.eas.com (think)....Mark Beaton is his name. I'll see if I can use him as a reference.

Sure, I have a lot to learn, and that's why I'm always asking questions and many have helped me out greatly (SC - thanks bro). That's the key. Never stop learning!!!!!

Hey man, anything to help ya w/motivaton bro.

Not really. Do you think Bobby Bowden of Florida State can rush for a 1000 yard season? I think not, but he knows more about football than just about anyone.

hmmm, ooook. Hey Kurz, I hope you didn't take it this bad lol. The Q wasn't meant to offend. I was just curious lol.

No one seems to have "access" to a digital camera these days. It sounds like the "story" told by friends trying to hook up on match.com. lol As my friends always tell the girls on match.com, any Kinkos will put your pic on disk. Surprisingly, no one follows up there either. :)

He's not giving dietary advice genious, and he's doesn't have to look good for his job. That is the POINT of what was said.

Your situational sample is completely different and is a non-sequitor. Nice try.

Hey cwick, let me in on the fun of throwing some weights around! Kurz, get down here to columbus and I'll outlift both of you lmao. No seriously, if ya'll don't mind an outsider looking for a asskickin, I'm in!

Yeah, he's giving advice on Football, something he can not play at a competitive level, but people listen. You don't have to look good to give out dietary advice, I'd listen to a doctor about dietary advice, even if he was 400 lbs.. I'd listen to an endocronologist about the use of anabolics, and how to take them properly, even if he had never taken them. The examples listed do relate to the situation at hand, quit trying to act intelligent by using word's like "non-sequitor", it doesn't do your case any good. Nice try.

CrazyK

You might listen to a 400lb doctor about dietary advice but only because he has a medical degree. Lets say a 400lb dude approaches you at Walmart and starts giving dietary advice would you listen to him? Of course not. The internet is the same way. You never know who is on the other side typing suggestions. Someone on the board more than a year that continues with the "don't have a digital camera" line should be questioned. Hell, I have hundreds of pics on my hardrive and it only takes a minute to upload.

OK, now that it seems we've gone off the topic of Kurz lol. CrazyK, if you feel comfortable taking nutritional advice from someone who doesn't look like they don't practice what they preach, then so be it. It just goes to show, some ppl don't care if the advice they are getting is actually used by the person giving it, qualified or not. If you were out of shape and didn't eat right, why would I even consider taking your advice to heart? Again, Kurz this has nothing to do with you :mix:

I can guarantee you will be one sore sob! Anyone who has ever trained with me hates it. I have had guys who have been sore for an entire week. The more they complained about being sore, the worse i made it on them.

LOL, who gives a shit about a pic on the aviator. All you have to do is read someones post over the course of time and you SHOULD be able to make a determination if you know they are for real. If i felt the need to post a pic, im sure i could get someone to take one for me even though i dont have a digital camera. Or i could just give you numbers of guys i have trained with here at Pitt or Purdue.

BWAHAHAHAH!!!!!! Sorry, you're a very original person. I'd never listen to a doctor who WASN'T 400 lbs. about nutrition, because the average doctor doesn't really know shit on the subject. A 400 lb. doctor would have me laughing into cardiac arrest.

To each his own, but your acceptance of advice/guidance from just anyone on a subject I can assure you, is not the norm. When it comes to LOOKS, people naturally LISTEN better and are more willing to work with those who are physically appealing, over those who are fat pieces of shit or have no physique to show for. If you think any different, well, like I said, you're "original". Call it "special", call it what you want.

By the way, who cares anyhow, I know what works, and I won't change a thing. That's the key!

I don't have to "sound" intelligent, that comes out naturally and has been doing so for well over three years. :) It's not stopping either. ;)

Yet another one without a dig camera. ;) You can get a cheap dig camera for $25 these days. Hey, give me the number to JimBob at Purdue so he can confirm that you know what you're talking about. lol

PS It's avatar not aviator - an aviator is someone who flies a plan - I guess the standards at Purdue are lower now. lol

TO EACHs OWN!

To tell you the truth i dont give a fuck who you are or the fact that you dont know me. However, if i did train at your gym, you would be fucking amazed.

Yo Cwick, I'm wouldn't doubt for 1 second I would be a sore sob lol. On that note, I don't mind it either lol. If you guys decide to train down my way, let me know and we can get together. I even have a gym at our disposal if you all want. It's not a worlds or anything, but it has the essentials! I'm a trainer at a little gym, and have the key so we could use it as close time also!

P.S. As a matter of fact, I invite you both to my gym. I only live about 2hrs tops from Kurz.

guys like Needsize are the ones who get my respect, not only do their bodies show they know what they're doing but they post up vids of them lifting so you can see just how hard they work

not that what anyone else lifts matters to me, but if you talk a big game you should really put up lol

There has been a sighting of Mr. X on the anabolic forum. He responded to the ancillary sticky at the top of the page on the 10th of July. I guess he's not MIA lol.

Tweakle,
If the pic in the avator is you, then you should get your props. However, when you read someones post, you can tell if they know what the hell the are talking about. If i was a thinner guy with a six pack, like many on this site, everyone would want to see my pick. However, i dont and really dont care that i dont. Im 250lbs and not ripped, but i am one big SOB who trains as hard as any one else does.

Truth is, anyone can be ripped.............and anyone can be large..............but to have both components, now that is the key........I'm changing my avat..............so we can end this.

So you would rather take dietary advice from someone who "sounds" like they know what they're talking about rather than someone who has applied their knowledge to attain a great physique? Hard to believe but ok. A "big SOB who trains hard" may be more useful on the training board and not the diet board - just a thought. Anyone can "bulk." Cutting is the more difficult part.

YEP!

I tried calling you this morning, but you must have been busy at work already. I left you a voice mail.

Possible training dates:
18, 19, or 20th.
or
25th or 26th

Call me later this evening.

Please, enlighten me as to how it is more difficult to bulk. Everyone knows the types of foods that will best serve the body. Eating massive amounts is easy. Now eating at maintenance or just below (to get leaner) is where it gets difficult. Hence the fact that most guys are fat. You think most guys would rather walk around fat than with abs. lol Why do you think that there is an obesity epedemic in the US? ;)

HOLD ON LITTLE ONE!

Your avator pics looks like you weigh about 160. I have absolutely no problem with that. Since you are light, you for sure should have a six pack. I weigh 250lbs, so it isnt the easiest of things to attain. However, i dont care about a six pack. I am big so it is a hell of lot easier to gain mass and strenght.

I do input a lot on the training boards, but i would like to increase my dietary knowledge too, hence i am reading and posting on the diet board. NOT ANYONE CAN BULK. Most thin guys cant bulk, like most big guys cant cut, genetics maybe, but absolutely not fully. Ill be the first to admit, if i have to sacrifice something it will be cardio.

The internet and message boards are great, but you have to use your brain to determine if you agree with someone or you discredit them. Most people on these boards can read through the bullshit and take note of the great ideas.

njripped, you're wrong on this one. Bulking does not necessarily = getting fat. In fact, the one's who bulk successfully are the one's that put on the smallest possible amount of fat. Of course anyone can pig out and balloon up. But I would like you to try going from your 160lb figure to 230lb with an increase of only 3- 4 percent bodyfat. Ah, makes it a lot harder, huh?

Now, cutting is definitely difficult, b/c you have to put a lot of effort into designing the perfect diet -- takes some of trial and error. But if you're strong mentally (ie. you are able to resist the temptation of eating the entire cake at a bday party), more than half the battle is already won.

No, you hold on fat oh one! lol

I weigh 172 lbs and my bodyfat has been hydrostatically measured in the low single digits. I won't say how low because you wouldn't believe it if I told you. Now, use your brain to calculate my muscle mass.

Everyone always assumes that their bodyfat numbers are lower than actual. I'll tell you what, you cut that 250lbs down to low single digit bodyfat numbers and lets see what you have. Not much and you know why? Because its mostly fat. Take a look at Lestat's pics he just posted. He said he started at 215 @ 6'2". After cutting, he's down to 183lbs. Now he appears to still be about 10% BF but he's much leaner and looks much better (which is probably the reason he posted his pics & you won't). He weighs 11lbs more than me and I'm 4" shorter.

Hell, I was a "bulk" guy like you all my life (except the last 2.5yrs) - worked out since I was 15yo. Then I developed the self control to eat properly all the time. I'm no longer a "bulker" and never plan to return (my gf would kill me). lol

I agree with you but not in the general sense that the term "bulk" is used. Most people use "bulking" to allow them to consume massive quantities of food. Take CWICK for example at 250lbs. Do you think his BF is anywhere near 10% (for your 3-4% scenario).

I could never go from 172lbs to 230lbs without the use of AAS (which I would never use) so the point is moot.

cwick0 sorry bro I wasn't having a go at you - i deleted part of my post that explained it better, i was actually thinking of the guys who DO post their pics that look like crap but then claim bigger lifts and measurements than guys like Needsize. guys who claim their 16.5" arms are 19" when it's clear they're not, and claim 405+ bench presses when looking at them you can see they'd struggle with 3 plates.

really pics of 6 packs dont interest me one bit, I'd much rather see vids of people lifting heavy weights but thats just me

Why do you have to be that dude? You've gone way overboard especially with calling people out you don't even know......get a grip kid.

I'm no longer a "bulker" and never plan to return (my gf would kill me). lol

YEP HERE I AM MR. FAT ASS. Its just an awful shame you assume to be a badass. I think it is great that you have low % of bodyfat, but remember you weigh 172lbs. Im 5'10.5" at probably 18% bodyfat, granite i wouldnt mind being 13-14% at 235. BUT GUESS WHAT. I DONT CARE TO BE IN THE SINGLE DIGITS. I am not a body builder nor a powerlifter, even though my numbers stack up to powerlifters. I am a mix of both. When you start smashing the weights that i do, then you can call me a FATASS. Until you rep 405 on bench, okay for your weight we will say rep 275, then you can critic my size and strength.

cwick0 sorry bro I wasn't having a go at you - i deleted part of my post that explained it better, i was actually thinking of the guys who DO post their pics that look like crap but then claim bigger lifts and measurements than guys like Needsize. guys who claim their 16.5" arms are 19" when it's clear they're not, and claim 405+ bench presses when looking at them you can see they'd struggle with 3 plates.

UNDERSTOOD.

I completely agree. Im not a picture buff with a camera, nor care for pictures, so i dont have any pics or vids of me training. I wish i had a video of hitting 5x5 with 405 last week on bench. I was shocked i got, never tried more than one set of 405 before, but could rest pause it for 3 some days and 5 on others.

It will probably be a cold day in hell before i have a six pack. I enjoy food a little too much for that and lack the essential time it takes to hit cardio religiously.

I'm not trying to be a badass. As a matter of fact, I'll be the first person to admit that I don't "smash the weights." Just as you don't care to be single digit BF ratios, the amount of weight I lift doesn't concern me at all. The amount of weight you can "smash" also has no relationship to whether you're fat or not. Either you are or aren't. This being the diet board, I just assumed (maybe wrongly so) that most people were more concerned with becoming leaner.

I have no problem in getting leaner and that is why i am working with and tend to train with Jkurz. The problem right now is grad school (not the course work, just all of the research time) and a bar i bounce at. Plus, i dont want to cut a bunch of weight and lose all of my strenght. Hence i dont really want to go below 230 or 235. Not to mention i have a very large frame and would quite funny weighing in at 200lbs. If you saw me, you would notice i am not fat at all, just big. I carry 250lbs really well, flat stomach. I know you would be suprised to see me weight 250lbs with a flat stomach.

"Get a grip." Are you serious? Do you recall recently hitting me with negative Karma saying the following "Fuck you and I'm 100% serious....."

:) It's not stopping either. ;)

~SC~
No, you don't sound intelligent, why? Because you can't get obvious 'points' through metaphors with out taking them literally.
