Guess what? She really DOESN'T have ripped abs

thanks steel !..i knew a bunch of info being thrown at me is a bad idea but what can i do?..listen to eveyone and have refeeds and no carb days, and dextrose post weights? i dont care im just doin my own thing now..the 50/30/20 plan and no sugar postworkout..and what u have mentionaed about what i felt when i crunch is a bit of flab with a hard ab muscle underneath...hmmmm how to rid that ...i always work my abs intensly with weights and without 4 times a week..sometimes twice if im tired..

Well said Steelweaver. IMHO the diet discussion board (where missyd has spent a lot of time) is one of THE worst places for a newbie to go and figure out a diet plan. On just the first page alone there are folks saying "30:30:30 is THE BEST diet", crumcake's ultimate diet to get ripped, Dr Atkin's diet, CKD, Zone, paleolithic diet, animalbolics, caveman, eat anything you want, high carb refeeds, high GI post workout, low GI all the time, no carbs ever, etc..... and there are people religiously proclaiming the perfection of each of these approaches to dieting. I think the majority of visitors to that board get confused, chop and change diets a few times, get more confused with poor results, then give up. Missyd is more tenacious than average, and should be commended for her persistance in asking which diet is best and how to "get abs". However, I think that missyd should pick one person (say, NY Muscle) and take their advice and STICK TO IT for at least 6-8 weeks. Don't bother reading other boards or asking questions....just DO IT for a set period of time and see what kind of results you get. You have to give it some time and commitment.

Missyd143 - I wholeheartedly agree with MS (don't think I have ever disagreed with her). To have someone like NYM offering to take you under his wing and get you on the right path is an offer that you are a fool if you pass up. Listen to noone but him and you will see results.

STOP!!!! doing your own thing, and do what NYM tells you to do. Do NOTHING EXCEPT what he says. DO NOT listen to anyone else right now. Follow NYM's plan for AT LEAST 6-8 weeks. FOLLOW it properly. Do not do your own thing. After 6-8 weeks, he/we/you will reevaluate, OK??? Got it?

OK, missy, it's time to tell us your weights routine now: exercises, sets, reps and weights for each. EVERYTHING. OK? Working abs 4 x per week is not optimal - it's too much. The ONLY 2 things that will make you be able to see your abs are a) you have abs, and b) diet. You cannot lose fat only on your tummy by doing lots of ab exercises. Impossible.

Now, that hard ab muscle you felt - what shape was it? Was it flat? Or does it have have hard lumps?

I'm completely flabbergasted....I just do not know what to say. Are these real pictures??? I can't believe this is a real person. Anyway, I am not here to bash anyone, but hopefully everything works out well Missy...Good luck.

Just PLEASE stick to one plan for at LEAST 8 weeks like MS stated.

I would also suggest that you take biweekly pictures so that everyone can see your progress. A lot of times looking at yourself everyday can be deceiving. Pictures are pretty motivational. Even if gains are slow, i'm sure you will get positive comments from the members, which is a great confidence and motivation booster. You are not that far off...just don't try and rush shit...which = STICKING TO ONE PROGRAM FOR 6-10 WEEKS, AT LEAST!!!

Again, good luck with your future gains...god knows we all want you to reach them.
