good mornings with hatfield bar

Hannibal:

You posted about this in that post that has like 1000 replies so i figured i'd give it its own thread.

The problem I have with SSquat Good Mornings is they seem to put a LOT of pressure on my neck vertebrae. My partner felt this too. Have you figured a way around this? What kind of weight were you using again?

Louie seems to love these. They just freak me out. A blown disc in the lower back is bad enough.... all i need is one in my neck.

Regarding reverse band pulls:

I am stronger off the floor then when I use reverse bands. I thinks its cause of my leg drive. Take that for what its worth.

I have been noticing the pressure on the neck like you said. I have been working with it...tryin to find a happy medium. I haven't found it YET..and I do mean YET. I have only had the bar a little over a week. I can already tell that they are going to help my overall strength....deadlift most specifically.

And as far as the band pulls go...maybe you are onto something. My record with the green bands was 475 or so....and then a couple weeks later I pulled 500 straight. So I dunno...

about the reverse band press...i think that it depends on how you lift and what your weakness is. what is strange to me is that i can pull pretty much the same off of pins that i can on the floor or even standing on a box for that matter.

For the record...my neck isn't nearly as sore as the first time I used the SS Bar. Still working on getting it to sit right on my shoulders and not my vertebrae. But like I said...I know it is going to be effective.
