Glucosamine the one?

Is glucosamine still the supplement of choice for joint pain? I started taking it again about a week or so ago but my joints are still stiff and painful. Everything fills good after a hard workout but after an hour or so the soreness in my knees is back. I am 46, 6'5" 245 so I am sure I can expect some stiffness and pain but nothing in between workouts helps the pain. I cannot even run without looking like an old man. Suggestions?

Glucosamine sulfate is a good add for joints, and I take it every day. It wont work miracles, but is nice
