Fucked up delts.

the first thing i noticed about my history teacher last year is that his delts were more than twice the size of any others i have ever seen, he litterly looked like he had bolling balls surgicly implanted between his upper arms and traps, and his traps did an great job of hiding his neck.

he is big all over but his shoulders are literly on par with alot of pro BBs so i though he would be a great person to ask about shoulder training. In college he could behind the neck press 275 for sets of 8(strict pressing, no leg drive) and for shrugs he only used 400-450(his traps are 3 times the size of many people who shrugg 500 for reps) but he would contract the traps hard and roll his shoulders back with each rep.

I know that rolling the shoulders on shrugs and BtNP are both viewed as very risky/foolish training practices but it is very hard to argue with his results(if i had a pic i would post it) and he never hurt himself doing either exercise.

I am curious as to what you all think about this and i also what to know how good 275 for sets of 8 on behind the neck press is because to me that sound obsene. But he looks like he could press as much as he wants...

One major thing to remember...It's not so much the exercises he is doing that gives him those shoulders and traps. It is the fact that his shoulders and traps are genetically there and would probably be just as big if he did front presses and didn't roll his shrugs.

My shoulders are a weak point but my legs are genetically set and I barely have to touch them and they blow up almost too big. Also, I have always had a double bicep (the very distinctive separation in the bicep when flexing). I did not create this by working out. It was always there.

Also, I have a buddy who has ridiculous shoulders and back but his arms are lacking and just don't respond the way his shoulders do.

And yes I think the poundages he is handling are impressive!

Curiously enough, when steroids are used, delts and traps tend to grow the most because they have relatively more androgen receptors than other muscles. Not accusing, just seems like an interesting coincidence.

That's interesting. Yeah, the traps and shoulder do blow up when people are on. I never knew why.

T-rage, are you the one who posted the picture of yer "calfed" bicep, with the huge brachials?

No. I haven't posted any pics and I'm currently ramping back up into traing after an injury so none of my body parts are even close to impressive right now.

I am not so sure it has much to do with genetics. He was never a big kid before working out, he like me was in part motivated by being picked on. I don't think his dad was very big either.

As for steriods, i remember talking to him about arnold once, he told me all the typical bs about how steriods are a death sentence no matter how you use them. I know that a user would not believe this, and i am fairly certain that if he just wanted to discurage me from using them he would just say i'm to young for them and/or give a more realistic view on their negative side effects.
