Hey my only question is what about keto diets? You must eat lots of fat more than half your cals but I'm still cutting fat like crazy and I know other people succeed on a high fat keto cut as well.

Works different. You consuming almost no carbs forcing your body to use fats as fuels which is triggered by the fats you do consume. If you're going to cut and still consume carbs a minumal amount of fat is to be consumed(some small amounts should be with several meals except the one after workout).- if I'm right....still trying to get this down.

Wow. I'm stunned. I'm not being sarcastic, dylangemelli. You look awesome and sound like you know your stuff and I'm always looking for new info. but if you shouldn't eat carbs except post-w/out and no rice, potatoes, for me that leaves beans and oats. I'm not in favor of oats because of the sweetening factor that goes with it. I don't like savory oats. So it seems like you mean a high protein, low fat diet. Fair enough but where is the energy coming from for w/outs? Load up on carbs post? But what carbs? And you say no carb loading, so I'm confused. I know BBers that do this right before a contest and they eat protein only, nothing else. But that's just the last few days or week. I hope you will respond.

You don't necessarily "need" carbs before a workout. Not only do I not eat carbs preworkout, but I don't consume anything but BCAAs. I train fasted every workout and have for a long time. Intermittent fasting is very popular for a reason. I feel no difference with or without a meal before a workout. Actually I have a much more productive workout in a fasted state. If consuming carbs preworkout is what you want to do then that's great, but its certainly not "needed"

So do you get your fuel mostly from fat you burn? I don't think I gave that a try long enough. Seems to take a looonnng time. I work out in a fasted state, too but I eat some carbs rest of the day. Small amount spread out but I still get them. That's fueling my workout. I don't get much from BCAAs. I've tried IF and I bonk with just BCAAs. I see other posters say to consume a small amount of fat w/other meals, so yea, that's good but I prefer to get my fat from my protein. It occurs naturally and to eat protein stripped of it, i.e., egg whites, chicken w/no skin, etc. and THEN put fat back in, i.e., EFAs, olive/coconut oil, etc. doesn't seem logical. I get the quality of these fats may supercede saturated fats but I'm not sure. I guess I just don't see how eating saturated fat would not be good on a cutting diet, if you're doing keto or very low carb. I guess what dylanmegelli meant was more avocados and nuts/seeds for the fat content? And I guess maybe quinoa and such for carbs? Someone said cous cous. I guess I just didn't do so well on keto and low carb when it came to working out. I sure loved the flat stomach though. THAT's why I wanted it to work so much.

I am currently on a cutting regament and consume all my carbs for the day in my 1st. and 2nd. meal with no carbs after 12:00 noon. I have a BMR of 1995 and am currently comsuming approx. 1300 to 1400 cal per day. Living on Talopia and Chicken breasts. I'm droping wt. like crazy over past 3 weeks. I'm sure my sticking point is right around the corner. What are y'als thoughts on no carbs after 12 noon? Great post...
