Flax Oil question

How much flax oil a day are we talking here.

I just got my MQ bottle in the mail yesterday and it says 1-2.

Does that sound about right, or do I need to up the intake?

Hey Zen, you can find answers to most of your questions quickly by using the Search function on the boards. More than likely, you'll find more answers than you expect.

As for the flax oil, I use 2-3 tbsp daily...one with each protein or MRP shake. 'Course, I'm on a bulking phase right now so I can use the extra EFAs. Even toss in a tbsp of peanut butter in one or two of my shakes.

Mainly depends on what your goals are (cutting or bulking) and what your normal diet looks like, as to how much flax oil you'd want to supplement with.
 
Zen, I take flax oil according to bodyweight. I go by 1tbsp per 75lbs, so I take about 3. But I'm also bulking right now, so I'd take that down to 2 if I were trying to cut up.
 
I add it to my shakes. It doesn't ruin the taste really, but you can kind of taste it.

I've read other threads where people ask whether it's ok to add it to shakes and most say it's fine.

Of course, there was one guy who drank it from a shot glass. Not sure I'm ready for that yet.
 
will taking flax at nite b benificial..at like 12:00 midnite when im going to bed at like 2:30??

cause i only take 1 table spoon before i werkout
 
MQ Flax oil is tolerable on its own, however, I hear some of the other brands will make you chunk... But, I prefer to dump a tbsp in the blender each time I make an MRP or Protien shake... makes the shake taste a little fuller/richer, but it doesn't ruin the taste at ALL! Take a couple of tbsp. daily, or more... it won't hurt and it WON'T make you fat :)
 
Better than flax is Udo's Choice Oil Blend.It is balanced more properly than straight flax in terms of the essential fatty acids.I don't find it too hard to drink it straight,but occassionally I'll throw it in a shake(I feel it throws off the flavor just a little).I use about 2 tbls per day when in the offseason,but double that amount pre-contest when my carbs are lower.
