For the last 2 months I did incline before flat bench and have never been able to lift more on flat while doing this. Today I finally surpassed my incline weight on flat bench, now I can't wait untill i start doing flat first in my routine.
Incline Bench 11/18
135 x 6*-warmup
185 x 6*-warmup
225 x 10
275 x 5
225 x 8
Flat Bench
225 x 8
275 x 7
295 x 4
I really think that working on heavy close-grip bench helped since my tris didn't fail before my chest, and pause sets to help on my acceleration throughout the movement..... all sets done with a pause at the bottom and full range of motion....

that's some pretty good weights bro, congrats...

Thanks everyone, I really think all the incline has boosted my flat eventhough I'm fatigued when I get to it. Probably gonna see next week how much my flat bench went up;) I really suggest working on incline and tricepts for those who want some major upper body strength with pressing movements....

I just switched to doing something very similar. I'm not doing any flat. only incline and weighted leaning dips. clean and jerks, clean and presses, My incline is going up everyweek and almost up to my flat bench wieght.. I suspect to blast past my personal best on the flat once im finished with this regimen. Nice results bro.. that idea works.

Congrats on the accomplishemtn LS!

But I've read many articles that proved that doing incline is useless. There is no way to work the lower part of the chest.
