I need everyones help in naming as many exercises for all the major body parts. (chest, tri, bi, hi/low back, quad, hams, calfs, abs). I am trying out exercises in the next could of weeks to figure out what works the best on each part so that I may put together a routine that is optimal for my body in the coming Jan. cycle. Those that help will recieve KarmaThanks from me.

i always do my core exercises to start off with but whenever i go to finish up a muscle group i like to switch it up and do different exercises that keep my workout interesting.

try doing pushups with a twist(barbells in each hand, go down, back up, then twist your body as you extend one arm straight up, then bring it down and raise the other arm. then repeat. it's a good one for the rear shoulder.)

the reverse pushup is good(hang from a bar that's a few feet off the ground, with your heels on the floor, pull your chest up to the bar. works best if you contract at the top)

reverse grip curls work your bi's at a different angle so that you don't have too much of a peak.

the best thing you can do is go out and buy magazines about fitness that have diagrams of different exercises. find the ones that look interesting and give them a try in the gym. just keeps you from getting bored with your routine.

Why do I get this feeling that you think that I have never worked out a day in my life??? I need routines movements that involve weights... i.e. dumbell presses...ect. Those that you gave me are some intuituve exercises that I could use at the end of my chest routine to work to failure thou.... thanks for the imput.

anyone else have exercises or a good place that has a list of lots of exercises so that I can pick and choose???

that was my point. i didn't want to come on here and treat you like a newbie and tell you to do benches and squats and curls and junk, just figured you already knew that stuff.

Yeah, I am trying not to rack my brain with thinking of all the exercises that I knew while trying to study for finals. Just being lazy that is all :p , and having everyone post exercises so I can print off the thread and mark things off as I do them...

thanks though,

damn, don't just give him one or two! he needs a selection! (j/k)

hope this helps

Chest
I personally like to do my chest workouts with dumbells rather than the bar i feel like i get much more consentration on the center of my chest. it also involves more control than if you use a bar. One of my favorite exercises for chest is incline flys' i feel that contributes the most to the way my chest looks.
Back
I usually start off with deadlifts, which i feel is the best universal back exercise there is not to mention the fact that your forearms and legs will also benifit from the heavy weight. Than I would start with some bar rows and lat pulldowns (make sure you extend you arms all the way and pull the bar down nice and slow then sqeeze at the bottom for a second.
Biceps
I like to superset bi's alot of the time. It gives me an incredible pump and gets me shredded. I also throw in some heavy weight just to help gain some size. Again I like the dumbells and the straight 45lb bar.
Triceps
Dips, weighted dips, and more dips. Also try extentions of all sorts. Close grip bench (incline, decline, and flat) all will help.
Shoulders and traps
Shrugs with heavy weight and superset one week and then just go heavy the next. I also shoulder press along with some lateral raises.
Legs
Squats, lunges (legs fucken suck), extention, curls, forward squats.

squat,
bench press,
pull ups/bent over rows,
push press/standing sholder press,
dead lift.

what else could you want
