Effexor belly

I recently quit this bloody drug, as the weight gain was horrible. Now I am left with en extremely inflated, bloated, preggie looking tummy! Yes, I did gain weight in other areas, but the belly gain is the absolute worst. I have never even when I gained in the past, had anything less than a flat stomach so this is absolutely depressing.

I have been doing cardio, eating pretty well, doing sit ups and weights now but nothing. I completely stopped taking the effexor the 1st of this year and it appears that I am gaining weight (again esp in the middle) instead of losing.

Based on my research, I am not the only one who this has happened too. But I am hoping someone can point me to something that will help reduce this lump in my middle and get me back my toned flat tummy!

Thanks

Hey girl...

Sorry to hear about your situation...

Couple questions, did you take yourself off or did your doc? are you taking something else to replace the anti depressant? if not, could that be why your depressed?

How's your diet?

I take Lexapro (just weened off Wellbutrin) and had no sides with either...

just want to make sure you put all the issues on the table before anyone offers ill advice :rose:

My diet is pretty okay. oatmeal, lots of eggs, water, once in a while a potato, very little sugar, lots of water.

I took myself off. I knew if I went to a doc he would more than likely try and put me on something else and I wasn't having that. I am not taking anything else nor will I ever hopefully. No, the depression isn't as a result of not taking anything else, I was still down even when I was taking the effexor. In a lot of ways, I feel better now that I am off it. I just wish this weight would go away!
