Ok so I read that you should only consume 1-2 servings daily, 2 at most. Is this true? If so does that mean if I'm eating a serving of almonds and say a couple tblspn's of olive oil each day then there is no need,r and/or it wouldnt be good to to take flax oil or fish oil caps daiy? Thanx for anyone who can help.

I disagree with it. I take in (normally) at least 3 servings and try to get a minimum of 5 fish oil caps in daily..most of the time I'd rather get to around 10

I haven't read anything saying otherwise, and it certainly has not hindered my results in any way

can you clearify what exactly you mean by "results"?

In my opinion the amount of EFA's taken will be depandant on the goal and caloric intake, if you increase calories from EFAs then you would have to decrease calories from either fat or carbs. As far as what your body NEEDS, it is 3-6% of the daily calories coming from LA (linoleic acid), and 0.5-1% of the daily calories coming from LNA (alpha-linolenic acid).

I cut from 16% to 9%. I am also an endomorph. While I agree that with the intake of EFA supps you would have to decrease the amount of other fat intake, I mainly ate very lean meats and thus I did not get a large portion of fat intake from my meats (and other things for that matter.) In order to reach my calorie goal while keeping carbs in relative control (especially on lower days) I would have to have raise the fats in order to do that. Ideally, I would take in around 65g of fat while cutting (where most of the fats came from variations of nuts.) Of course, this number would vary as I did a variation of carb cycling, so the intake would fluctuate depending on my carb intake..
