DUMBELL SHOULDER PRESS, how the hell do you get them up?

hey guys

was wondering, since im sure others have had this issue or have this issue

when you do dumbell shoulder press how the hell do you get the dumbells up?

i mean getting it from your lap to a shoulder press postion?

its easy with the 35-40kg dumbells

but atm ive just hit 60kg dumbell shoulder press each arm, and theirs no way in hell i can get them up

i keep needing to ask 2 randoms at my gym, so each guy can help lift a dumbell to a postion i can put it into press

does anyone have any special methods on how they get their heavy dumbells up? or some sort of trick?

please if your dumbell shoulder pressing 40kg then your tip probably wont work for me, not trying to sound arrogent but der is

its either with a knee kick or get help, thats it.

I get them to chest height when standing, then sit suddenly to bounce them up to beginning shoulder press position. I usually stay sitting on the bench because my weight room has a low ceiling with a fan.

i guess its just practice, theres a video on youtube of a guy kicking up 125's with ease, and 60kg is only 7lbs more than that

thats some strong shoulder strength though bro!

major knee kick for each arm, 1 at a time. its pretty easy actually. i find my foot comes nearly over my head when i kick up the weights.

power clean them then sit down.

knee kick bro. i usualy pick up the weight from the rack and walk backwards to the upright bench. when i get close to the bench i pu t the dbells on the front of my thighs just above my knees. when i begin the decent into the seat i use the momentum and kick em up one by one. i knock up the right first then the left and by the time im sitting ive got em at shoulder height. ive never tried past 100's tho.

power clean them then sit down.

agreed.

Also, the military seat in my gym has a bar about shoulder high if i lower the seat all the way down. I can sit them on the bar and go from there.

If I go really heavy i always have someone hand at least one to me, so sense in wasting energy getting them up when going heavy
