Dropping calories after bulking

I know I am supposed to gradually drop 300-400 calories a week from my diet but how much damage will it be to drop a bunch at once. I started at 2400, added 200-300 a week until I reached 4800. I was at 4800 for about 3 weeks. I dropped 500 off 8 days ago and dropped another 400 today. I am at 3900. I have a big shin dig coming up in January and I really want to start cutting. How bad would it be to take 100 calories off a day until I reach 2400 or 2500 calories. During the CKD bulk I went from 175 or so to a current 191. Any thoughts?

I would suggest you take a 10% cut every 3 days from your caloric intake: thus, if you're taking in 4000, for the next 3 days you take in 3600 (4000*90%). Next 3 days, you take in 3240 (3600*90%) and so on. This would allow time for your body to adapt to the caloric change.
