I almost flipped out because of what the school system does to him....his mother is so non confrontational and thinks his teacher is super awesome. Then why does he not know the elements of a paragraph? The curriculum is pretty fucking clear. I spent ten minutes with him and he was able to recite the elements quickly after I related it to the horror story he was already writing. More importantly I told him to write about things he wants to write about and not some bullshit assignment;Government schools suck ass.

Maybe you should be more involved with your child's life. I play video games with my future stepson and ask him critical reasoning questions. I don't directly challenge his cataclysm (my verbage) but focus on reason and evidence...he'll figure it out. His mother is too weak to protect him from the virus of faith because she went from protestant to catholic.
