Does lifting to heavy put to much stress on the bones?

if your italian and 5'9 there are chances that the mother had an affair, j/k

i really don't plan on being anywhere past 5'8 , infact 5'8 is a perfect height. I want to get bigger now tho and I am going too, just wanted to see what people thought.

I look at lee preist, as an inspiration sort of, hes short , he will never win the O but he has goals. I never wanna bodybuild professinal like him tho, just wanna lift and be big.

Edit: maybe play highschool, maybe even college football, I know thats a big goal and I have a short chance ( no pun intended ) but its a goal.

Dude, lift and get big. Nothing will stop you from growing. Don't think lifting heavy will halt your growth.

that's about all there is to say, and it is pretty hard to get all the carbs and protein, and calcium you need while you are dieting down

Agreed, once again I was just seeing if anyone knew. I apreciate all the feedback.

personally, i think weightlifting stunting your growth is bullshit. when i started lifting i was 13 years old and about 5'10". now six years laters i'm 6'2-3". just to give you an example. btw impressive lifts!

Right now, there is no real evidence that lifting weights will stunt your growth. I have read a few studies that have shown damage done to the epiphyseal plate but that was due to them using too much weight and poor form, which in turn resulted in injuries to the growth plates. There is a good amount of research that illustrates the benefits of lifting weights at a young ages. It will make the bones stronger but the best bet is to make sure that you have good form and don't try and push your body to the extremem where you make yourself vulnerable to injuries.
